"How to dance to techno" workshop?
« on: September 21, 2011, 12:57:14 »
Would anyone be interested in hosting such a workshop?

I'm thinking relatively basic, for those of us who'd like to expand our repertoire beyond "bounce up and down". :P

Is this something you are interested in hosting yourself?  We welcome people with new ideas and that are willing to run panels for us.

If you would be interested, please email are events team: events(at)confuzzled.org.uk

Seeing as I am in the "Can't do much more than bounce" category, I don't think I have much to offer. But hopefully, some kind soul will have pity on us :P

I believe it will be inevitable that I will run some sort of How to Dance workshop.

Mine would most likely cover as many ways and techniques to dancing as I can since I'm not really a believer in sticking to 'styles'
I prefer to blend moves at my own will and focus more on rhythm.

But theres plenty to go over.

Ditto... speaking as a man with two left feet who nevertheless seems persistently to get caught "giving it a go" I wouldn't mind pointers.

I have spread my dreams under your feet;

Love dancing 0.0 whats the nightlife like at CF? How many dancefloors? Many people down there? Oh and one last question - do you have to be resident to go? I think i read the daytrippers get kicked out after the last event?

This year there will be a nightclub on every night from Friday night as far as I know.  There is one dance floor, playing all sorts of music, last year we had everything from jumpstyle to electro swing, and heavy metal to 80's cheese!  The nightclub is usually quite full, it varies throughout the night, and everyone is welcome! The only requirement is that attending only congoers are off the premises by the last dance (usually 2am).

1980's music wasn't that bad, Bucks Fizz were the cheesiest 80's group.

Being another of those "just move to the music" type of dancers, I would attend a dance panel to hopefully absorb a few tips to apply to my general bumbling and swaying around to the beat. I missed the dance panel last year but one night the dance instructor fellow was on the dance floor and a bunch of us were sortof trying to follow his moves, it was fun.
