Big meet 24th

Yeah....no idea about this cafa thing....maybe I should read the plan.

I just viewed it as like a pimped out mini meet. But if there more stuff involed I'll go read up on it.

this is what I read about Saturday (its a copy/paste of what was in the email from the northernfurs yahoo group)

* The meet is now at AXM Bar on Canal Street, there are a few things to
note about this venue. We are allowed tails, ears and collors, however
we have been asked to keep fursuiting inside the actual venue down a bit
because they don't want "loads of wild animals runnign around". We're
not saying you can't suit but just don't do it enough to upset the
management and if they ask ya to take it off then please do as requested ^o^
* During the hours of 12pm until 4pm you are not tied to the venue if
you don't want to be, feel free to go off and get some food or whatever
as there is nothing in the official meet plan for foodageness.
* The two events we will be running from 4pm are a browse around town
(shopping, dossing, maybe some ice skating on the ice rink in Picadilly
Gardens) or going to the Printworks Cinema. I will try and have a copy
of the listings for cinema in the venue so you can all decide if ya want
to go to that beforehand, I have a sneaking suspicion Rattitoui will
still be on
* Kenno has asked me to mention that in the evening he will be attending
Jilly's Rockworld, should you be planning to go he'd be greatful if you
got ahold of him and told him so he can kidnap you or something
* Another evening event I've heard about is a few furs will be 'gaying
it up' in Canal Street that evening should you wish to join them, I'm
not sure who's organising that yet but I'm sure they'll make it obvious
at the meet so just grab a hold of them then

Ah "Plans", the things that are generally overlooked on the day, well except for the part about meeting at Piccadilly, and then the first bar we go to. After that, most people find their own little group of fellow furs and do stuff with them rather than following the plan.

Now for my own input here, feel free to use/disregard as you please.

As a former Mancs native, I can vouch for the AMC Cinema as an alternative to the Odeon Printworks. It's cheaper, usually quieter and about the same distance from Canal Street. That and I'm not really a fan of the Odeon anyway, unless what you want to see is on the IMAX screen, then it's worth thinking about.

Fursuiting wise, the plan mentions nothing about the Sat, other than the venue don't like it (Personally, I dunno why are we using a venue that doesn't want us fursuiting. Via, where the Mancs meets used to be didn't seem to mind and is just down the road...), but I'm pretty certain furs will be suiting up at some point during the day, and certainly some will do so again on the Sunday for the planned Fursuit Walk.

Something that seems to have been overlooked is the Continental Markets, AKA the Christmas Markets should be in full swing and are worth a look. I'd avoid the Trafford Centre like the Black Death. It's always to be crammed full of people doing weekend shopping, and the fact it's a month before Christmas isn't going to help matters.

Just my two pence worth, look out for me at the meet, I'll be there from about 11:15 at the station, loitering with intent to meet other furs

I'll be bringing along listings for the AMC and Odeon (formerly thefilmworks). The Odeon are showing Beowulf 3D on IMAX and Nightmare Before Christmas (3D), amongst other things, so if folks want to see either of those it may be the better option.

I havent seen nightmare before christmas in aaages, hehe ^^

For my first meet, this one was quite good (didnt expect half the group to wander off though ;_; I missed getting some details of some new freinds) despite the fact that before I met up with the group, I almost broke a limb or two falling down wet stone stairs ><;

There might be more to come ... given the number of peeps attending I'm sure there's going to be some of you (Ember certainly seems to have got plenty, lol).

Its nice that there's a lot of photos of the non-suiters though, since there's often a very suiter-centric feel to the photos from other meets.

I know apart from the ones I took, there was at least one other took of me, so Ill have to keep my eyes peeled for it.

Also yeah, I got to agree with that, a lot tend to focus on the suiters themselves, when its the non suiters that make up the magority(sp?) of the group, so its nice to see they get a lot of pics in too

Speaking of pics, I might as well pop up links to the ones I took (I forgot to crop them so they would be too big to fit in one post...  Also note, the ones with Alize in have been photoshopped to block out the eyes, which I did for them going on my site ^^;)
