Ragear the Lion bearing down on town
« on: February 20, 2012, 21:26:39 »
Hello Fellows,

Hi I'm Ragear. I'm living in Germany, been furry for a year and a tidbit, but already lucky to have seen Anthrocon and Eurofurence. I like to peek over picket fences, so this time it'll be CF in splendid England for another experience. I'd like to check wether smaller con are better to meet furs than those furry supercarriers :-) and the mix of british and furs looks promising. Without ignoring all other lovely visitors from other countries! I'll be trekking by car (walking just takes too long, despite 4 paws, imho) so I may see some landscape, too. If I don't run out of luck too much I'll be having a fursuit by then...

Welcome onboard Ragear, I'm pleased to hear you will be attending CF this year and hope that it offers up as an enjoyable experience for you as you have previously had both at AC and EF.  You will find that we have a rather nice collection of German friends also attending ConFuzzled, so I am sure that there will be someone there you will know, plus the space is not as vast as AC, meaning bumping into new people more regularly should be a lot easier.

I hope you enjoy your drive over.  The once piece of advice I would give you regarding undertaking this challange is to ensure to plan you route with plenty of time.  Like most other countries, the roads around our cities become terrible conjested during rush hour, and if you are coming via Dover, you will be hitting the M25 around London.  This can add in the worst case scenario, several hours to your journey, so would suggest avoiding it at any peak times; 7am - 10am, 4pm - 7pm.

If you make a holiday out of it, there are several lovely sites within the UK you can stop at on your journey, so I hope you make the most out of it and enjoy your trip!

Kind Regards,

Rizzorat

Hi Rizzo,

well, according to my travel manager (aka car owner :-)) we'll be bypassing London in the dead of the night, so unless someone scares me stiff that shouldn't be a problem (and the best part: nobody sees me driving on the right side...)
thanks for the welcome!

=^_^=
