Early arrival question
« on: March 11, 2013, 22:28:49 »
Hi everyone,

I have a question about early arrival day.
I have a double room at the Hinckley Island, booked for the normal attendance period (no early/late).

However, I'm trying to figure out my planes and travel stuff, so I need to know whether I can be at the hotel during early arrival day, without having booked a room for that specific day.
I'd leave at night to sleep at a friend's house, then come back the "normal arrival" morning and register/check in to my room.

Maybe it's a silly question, but before I book my flights I need to know if I can do that without causing trouble (i.e. being there one day earlier compared to my actual room booking and such).

I have already emailed info at confuzzled (as I wasn't sure if registration at confuzzled was the right one for this kind of issue) but I've got no reply yet, so I'm posting here hoping to get a reply, as I'm waiting for this to confirm my flights :)

Thanks everyone!

Did you email registration? That might be a better one for the information you need.

Hi Xar,

This question was recently asked by another attendee so can mirror that conversation here.  Essentially, the convention have exclusivity on the hotel from 6pm onwards.  Before that time, the public space is open to anyone, including other hotel guests, and outside delegates.  Once hand over completes, CF essentially take ownership of the entire hotel and put our own policies into place.

Given that there are no actual scheduled events on the Wednesday, we are not opposed to non residents using the public spaces, bars etc.. to socialise on the Wednesday beyond 6pm however, we must be very firm in reminding people that any attempt to stay the night in another guests room will be seen as ghosting, and in violation of the code of conduct.

In short, please feel free to hang around and socialise in the public space, but do ensure that you have arrangements in place, which is clearly sounds like you do, to leave the premises in the evening.

Hope this answers your question enough to allow you to book your flights :)

Thanks guys!

Yes, I already have arrangements for sleeping space for that night, so I'm good to go :)
