Public list of fursuit badges

I'll put my photographer hat on for this one 

For the past couple of years, Eurofurence have provided a public list of the fursuit badges which they issued, along with the image the fursuiter provided (photo or whatever) -- http://fursuit.eurofurence.org/past/
I've been using that to sort through CFZ photos and figure out which fursuiters I'd seen, met up with or caught on camera (a few attend both CFZ and EF) but there are still a few who only attend CFZ.

Is there any possibility of ConFuzzled doing something similar?

If it's a question of making the data available in an accessible form (i.e. "put a pretty front end on the data"), I'd be happy to help out with that.

Hi Surbrbanfox,

fursuit badges was something that was budgeted for late this year because it is not essential to the convention running, but more a desireable.  As a result, it didnt get the polish and shine that it ideally requires if we are as we hope to do, offer this year on year.  Mattlion was very kind to create something for us at short notice but as you can imagine, he is a very busy individual.

If you have suggestions and ideas on how to polish this process up and it is something you can commit time to and help with, we would LOVE to hear your feedback.

Hiya! If someone else would like to write a better front and back end to the fursuit badge system, I would be totally delighted! The one we had this year was a horrible cludge I created just enough so it worked.

I think this would be best tackled by integrating it into Picnic (the registration system). It's already got details about attendees, why shouldn't fursuit badges be separate?

Nevertheless, we'd still need someone to code it. I'm not sure the current Picnic devs have the time to devote to it. So if you're interested in helping out in this regards, give a shout!

Thanks - sorry if I sounded a bit impatient there...

@Tungro - integrating it into the registration system was pretty much what I was thinking. You register, then when your registration is approved, you get a "manage fursuit badges" option. From there you can upload images and fursuit info, see the ones you've uploaded, and so on. Maybe have an "exclude from public list" option if people want that? That's all pie in the sky though.
The public fursuit list / photo grid is on my "really nice to have" list right after it, just because the Eurofurence one has been so useful. Couple of hours of extra coding, "SELECT * FROM fursuit_badges WHERE publicly_visible='true'" and display the results in a pretty little grid.
