Title: Con sign-in question

With the forms of ID used for verifying identity when we register, are provisional driving licences allowed? They have the official photos, government approval, DOB and photo id on them, and you need a passport to get one. I would rather not risk my passport if I can help it, and I don't have a full driving licence as I can't afford lessons yet. Will a provisional be acceptable?
