Discussion / Re: Fursuiting around Resorts World
« on: October 27, 2015, 16:00:52 »
I've not heard of one, what is it?

It's the big complex/building they've been building out back of the Hilton across the lake the last two years.

I can't answer officially, but I can imagine that, with it still being under construction during the previous two conventions, it's doubtful anyone would have inquired with RW (or even been able to) about this yet.

:'( this is gonna cost a lot... if i rent a car, that'll be about 100 pounds plus the fees and if i stay at the sketchy hotel which is 4 mins away from CF, all that will add up around 240 pounds and that's about $450 usd..... lol weird question, but does anybody live near RAF Lakenheath?

I live in Lakenheath village as well. Between Stevil and I, I'm sure we can get you there.

Most people will have to enter the ground floor of the Rotunda to get to their hotel rooms, so you might have problems filming there for long stretches without people in the way. You might be better with filming from the balconies of the Rotunda, since you should be able to block off one segment of it if you really needed to.

I'm sure for the short amount of time that folks would need access to the area for this, arrangements can be made for foot traffic control. Really not that big of a deal for something that has so much potential for attendees to have a good time and get involved.

Haha! Guess we'll have to see! ;)

Haha! Yes indeedy, I will be driving up from Lakenheath and getting there early-ish Friday evening. ;D

Looking forward to making some new friends and maybe some folks I can meet up with at a track once in a while. Thinking about taking a drive out to SantaPod this weekend or next just for kicks and giggles. Been in the UK a month and haven't really done much yet. :P

You should consider talking to Kyyanno regarding your petrol head interests.  He is holding an event for people with the same interests as you :)

Welcome btw to the forums
Oooh, outstanding info. Thanks! ;D

Where does that giant tube go to?  Just outside somewhere in a big chimney?

It's a long (approximately 100ft) tube lined with perforated metal panels, behind which is about 3-5ft thick of insulation for sound dampening. At the far end of the duct, there are a bunch of louver panels which direct the exhaust gasses straight up out the back of the facility.

Dude, you'll definitely meet some Gear Heads at CF. :D
Haha, very cool, Graafen. Can't wait! :D

Hiya and welcome
Thanks for the eyecandy ^_^

I live near derby where Rols royce are based and occasionally drive by their engine test bed side in sinfin.
Would love to get a tour/job round there o.o
Oooooh, very cool! I didn't realize they were based in Derby. That would definitely make for some awesome eye candy. 8)

Until you can get your tour of Rolls Royce though, I'll leave these here to hold you over. ;) Taken during the same shoot the first one was. The up close nozzle pic is a little blurry because it's soooooo loud back there. Even with double hearing protection on, it's just shaking you to your core...

And in case you were wondering, this is a General Electric F110-GE-129C engine. Typically this engine is used in F-16's. But there are a few countries such as Singapore, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia that have their F-15's fit with them. Typically F-15's use Pratt & Whitney engines, which is what I have the majority of my experience on.
