Discussion / Re: Quick question
« on: September 07, 2012, 16:32:01 »
I'm really rather pleased so many people are offering such good advice!  ;D  you guys rock!

There are a fair few attendees who specifically want to share a room and specifically do NOT want to choose a sharing partner. They get to know new people that way, every year!

So yes, as people said, you can still go for a room where you get a bed to yourself but just have someone else staying in the room too. Good way of getting to know new people.

If you really REALLY want a single bed in a room to yourself, you can still register but you would have to go on the waiting list and hope that someone who got there before you ends up cancelling. Which, I have to admit, is a little bit slim :/

Glad to hear :)

Yeah, we're just a bit snowed under, we're nearly back on top of things though. Apologies for any delays! We've never had an initial rush as big as this before! :)

Heh precisely :) if you really want the official answer to come from the registration@ address, feel free to email me on that address and I'll reply that way :) But it'll just be me copying and pasting what I said before :)

Discussion / Re: Payment- amount outstanding
« on: September 06, 2012, 23:26:21 »
Hi,

Apologies for this. It's an error in the system. That amount is actually the Google Checkout fee. It shows you the right amount when you go to make the payment but when it tells our system it's paid, it doesn't take into account the fee. So it came up with a negative figure. We're fixing the bug just now. Don't worry, in the next few hours you should see it fixed completely.

Apologies again for the confusion!

Hi,

You're usually better off emailing the departments in question but I've been directed this way anyway. As the B Line card has the government pass logo on it, it's valid, as long as it shows your name, date of birth and a photo. I unfortunately struggled to find a clear picture of one so can't tell if it has those elements. If it does, then yes, that's fine. If not then no.

Kind regards,

Hi!

Not entirely sure where £80/pppn comes from. Standard double as you mentioned is £250 but that includes your confee. So take about £50 away from that, something like that, so that's £200 for the room. It's also for four nights, so that's actually £50 per person per night. That's in a four star hotel, with breakfast, which I personally think is quite reasonable :)

Other accommodation in the area is a a little hard to come by. But last year there were two hotels. One was a country hotel, can't remember the name annoyingly. The other was a Premier Inn in Hinckley. Just remember to factor in any travel cost between that hotel and the CF venue :)

EDIT: Oh, and including the confee... that's £250/4 which is £62.50 :)

Yes, there are some that live near Lakenheath. I will point them to this thread for you :)

Best advice therefore: if travelling to Birmingham International, buy a ticket from the ticket office as it's no cheaper buying in advance, and the member of staff in the ticket office can make sure you've got the right ticket for the journey you want to make.

Announcements / Residential Registrations - Full!
« on: April 16, 2012, 14:40:46 »
Hi,

This is to let everyone know that we are operating waiting lists for all room types now at the hotel. This means that if you register, you'll be put on a waiting list. Should your chosen roomtype become available (e.g. through someone having to cancel), then the person at the front of the waiting list will be offered that person's place. Please make sure you are ready to pay quickly if you're on the waiting list!

The waiting list is on a first-come-first-served basis per room type.

If by the 20th of April at 8pm you still haven't received an email confirming you've been offered a room, then we'll email you to let you know you've unfortunately not been successful. After this date, we can only do like-for-like transfers of memberships if someone who is already confirmed as attending is unable to attend. Therefore, you can choose to go "Attending Only" and either find accommodation elsewhere or keep an eye on the forums to see if anyone is looking to transfer their registration, or choose to cancel your registration.

It's simply amazing that we've managed to fill the venue in our first year there. Thank you everyone for supporting the convention - it'll be a blast!

Kind regards,

-Tungro

Hi Lamar,

I'd like to point you to our announcement about registration closing, a link which is here: http://forum.confuzzled.org.uk/index.php?topic=1781.0
In the announcement, please note the following:

Quote
At this point in time, we will also lock down the ability to amend your registration.

This does include transferring your registration. The reason for this is because at that point in time, we need to submit the final details to the venue. Therefore I'm sorry, any transfers of registration would also need to be completed by then.

I hope that helps, if there's anything else I can help with, please let me know!

Kind regards,

-Tungro

No problem, glad we could help!  ;D

Simple facts in a simple summary.

  • We will continue showing mature items in the art show and in the art auction
  • The art show will have the mature art separated from the general art
  • The mature and general art that make it into the auction will be mixed together to keep interest for all throughout the auction
  • Every effort will be made to censor the mature art in the art auction display system, but this is not guaranteed due to time constraints
  • Should there not be enough time, then suitable information will be on display at the auction before the auction starts warning people of this
  • Art shown round to people in the show will not be censored. If you don't want to see it, don't ask for a closer look

Quote
It may well increase because people who avoid adult art may be more willing to attend and bid
I do not agree. I believe that most of those that are not interested in the mature art simply chat to their friend or look away, until something that they are interested in comes up. I think those that are very against seeing any kind of mature art, even by accident, are in the minority. It's almost like forcing the adult channels on TV to be blocked just in case you hit ProgUp/ProgDn and reach one by accident (even the "preview" channels can be bad enough).

Hi,

All that ticket reference gives me is a ticket with someone saying "Hi, this is my address"... I have no idea what this is about :/

Just to let you know... Southpaw is right with what he said, and I had received the PMs. I've now dealt with this, so you're all set :)
