Room & Transport Sharing / Looking for a girl to room mate with
« on: September 15, 2012, 14:40:15 »
This will be my first time in a hotel on my own, I've only been to hotels on school trips.

I've booked a 2 x Double Bed room and would like a girl to share with me please.

Can I also request that there's no room parties ( in our room, you can go to others though) past 11pm? I'm aiming for a dealer's den spot and I don't want to be tired out for my customers. :/

Oh erm; 23 year old female, shy and a little anxious. Not a party animal.

Events / Anthropomorphic Everything Else
« on: September 15, 2012, 14:35:24 »
So I get asked a lot why I draw anthro cars, and I usually give a short comment since going into the whole process would be crazy. I guess because I'm one of the few anthro-vehicle artists I get a lot of interest. So I thought of maybe doing a little talk, showcasing some art from others and in different media, decades etc...

" Anthropomorphic, Everything Else!"

I know Furries are usually strictly animal critters but a lot have cyborg, or they like the anthro planes/cars etc. And I was wondering if they'd be enough interest?

Would run from " Why everything else" to " Whose drawn it ( theres a few artists in the fandom and in history, Jasek Yurka  and propaganda artists), why, how etc"

I wondered if people would be cool with it, or if it would creep them out.

Good idea?

I guess it would have been better for last year because of the movie theme but last year was my first con.

Feedback / Parade Photo Feedback
« on: September 15, 2012, 14:24:14 »
Oh man, late to the party but...

My major irk with the con was the photoshoot at the end of the parade.

So I have never been in-suit before that long and it was hard enough; I had to get out of suit pretty quick as my stomach started feeling upset. So I walked the parade, I was about in the middle in terms of my spot with a few suiters behind me. The walk was fine itself but the photoshoot at the end peeved me.

So first of all, we're all insuit and told to walk up several sets of stairs, with the added bonus of tails to avoid from suiters standing on the edge of them, about 3 times. So thats something like 3x4 stairs? A lot in a suit. Up and down, up and down. We'd get to the top and be told " no space, go back down". We would go down and " There's space upstairs, go up!" and get sent back up. This happened atleast twice.

It was the final journey down and there was about 15 of us that couldn't find spots. I was the last one down and so a grumpy staffer ( Not sure who, white guy with dark hair) ended up shouting at me to go all the way back up because they're were spaces and " You won't get in the shoot otherwise, go up!" First off all, I'm in suit, cannot hear you well and two, I get really upset if people shout at me. Even if it's good intentioned.

Anyway, I did as I was told along with the other fursuiters and we walked all the way up to the top floor. There were no spaces. Furs were on top of eachother just to poke their heads into shot. We hear the call of the photo being taken and we're no where near the edge of the balcony. There was about 10 of us that were just like, oh, that was worth going up several steps for.

What was the picture like on the end? The focus was on the Rotunda, not the fursuiters. If you were lucky and got to the first floor you were fine but any higher up and you're a little furry smidge. Yes, it does make a nice background if theres only a few people and you're closer.

What bugged me most was that all the fursuiters could fit inside the hall we met in, why not there? Yes, other cons do that sorta shot but with good reason; the focus is on the suiters and you can spot yourself easier.

TL:DR; Walking up stairs in-suit is not fun, especially multiple times. Being shouted at is not fun, even if it was just a personal anxiety thing and the guy didn't mean it, it did leave me sore after the con. The overall photo doesn't showcase suits well.

I'm interested but I haven't danced in years ( when I was widdle smart car girl ) but if you're happy to try to guide me I can. I can't do anything fast to be fair, Khaaz-suit has big big feet!

21
Okey dokey, I'll get a frame. I want looking at a canvas too which would have been even trickier!

I guess because its hung up, no 3D stuff? I have a custom pony I'd like to auction is all...

22
thanks! Also; another question.

How is our art displayed? Is it just pinned up, given a temporary mount, laid out on a table?

I think I saw that we couldn't sell framed stuff ( due to glass).

23
Why? Because it's two miles on foot, with no pavements and I'll be carrying my costume.

I'm fine for the Friday as I can catch the shuttle bus but I'll need a lift from Hinckley to the con on Sat and Sun around 9 in the morning and 7-8ish at night.

I've already had one offer but I'm making sure I have some back up plans incase they can't pick me up.

I don't have a car and while I can cycle; I haven't been on a road in years ( I use trails) and I can't take it on the bus.

I'd be cool to pay for fuel costs or whatever.

24
So I was having a look through the auction guidelines again and I noticed this;

Saturday: 9:00-18:00 (9:00-10:00 Sponsors only)

Will there be bidding between 9-10 or is it just for viewing? It would seem unfair on the artists if there stuff was put on live auction between these times when there are fewer people in the room.

Also, I know theres a 'no copyrighted' characters rule but what about an anthro version of a popular film character taking little things about there design so they are recognisable but not a copy. An example would be; An anthro wolf Jack Sparrow. He has the hat, hair, beard etc but he's not a direct copy. I'm using that as an example, as I don't want to ruin the surprise.

British Bulldog is the 'tag' game between two points right?

Icecream?

'It' is at the wall, when he turns away you sneak forward, and when he turns back you have to stand still. If you move you get sent back to the line. Then when you're near the wall you touch it and shout " ICECREAM!" It then chases everyone and whoever he tags is the new 'it'. 'Icecream' could be changed to a more furry-related phrase. ( I think one time, we called it A#!$ hole and we got told off...)

I also remember Stuck in the Mud. Ah, the silly games we played.

Discussion / How does the photoshoot work?
« on: April 10, 2012, 22:05:40 »
inb4 " Well you brush your hair and clean your teeth, and smile for the nice man with the teddy behind the camera"

I've not been to a con that offers photoshoots before so do we sign up in advance for a time or just queue up when we're there? Does it cost?

I wish I could, but I haven't danced since I was 13 or so. :/ Unless you're a miracle worker and it'll be like the Ugly Duckling, but with dance...

I look forward to the end result though!

EDIT; I could be a 'fan' in the background :D.

Unless you have need of a car-monster specifically? Chaffeur for the 'stars'? Now I feel like I'm being pushy though D:

*waves* this thread is here too?

I'm interested. I would prefer to get to know people first and not just as " a person who likes vore" because that is a little weird to just make a friendship based on that.

( What the barnacles? For some reason, this reply got it self on an entirely different thread!)

Use of perspective in drawing dragons?

It's all well and good drawing more static poses, but I always have trouble drawing things like wings in perspective ( if they're being folded or are held at an odd angle) in flight, or bodies moving towards the viewer etc.

Introduce Yourself / Beep!

Hello there,

Thought I'd join since if I have questions, they're better suited to this board than UKfur's.

Confuzzled will be my first furry con and hopefully, I will be in suit... as an anthro car. :I
