I'm rather curious about the hunt the panda one as I've not heard of that one.

Events / Fursuits go Dutch
« on: October 18, 2011, 19:55:46 »
This idea came up the other day on IRC which would be to have fursuiters perfoming instructions they hear spoken in Dutch. Some of the phrases can be quite amusing as they sound English, but are totally different.Possibly a few props could be used as well, pick up the right thing etc.

For a prize I was thinking along the lines of a packet of waffles.

Random idea was quite random, but someone might like the sound of it :)

Discussion / Fursuit badges
« on: September 19, 2011, 19:47:20 »
I've got a quick question for you, is there any chance of providing fursuit badges for attendees this year similar to the way EF did? They had the option for one fursuit badge inclusive in the price or you could pay extra for more badges for those who bring more then one fursuit.

It would be good as some suits are different from the person wearing them and is a nice way of showing where the suits have been.

Events / Fursuit air guitar
« on: August 19, 2011, 19:09:20 »
Simple set up, fursuits play either on their own or in a 'band' to air guitar songs to an audience. Probably scored using a soundmeter, described as something stupidly technical of course. No need for words to be displayed as they won't actually be singing, more performing and miming things.

Probably around the hour mark needed for enough set up time and to get everyone in and organised into a running order.

Dealers Den & Art Auction / Sponsor early entry
« on: August 16, 2011, 19:26:30 »
Last yer there was quite a large queue for the sponsor early entry, being as the convention is growing and more sponsors are likely to attend, would it be possible to extent the amount of time for sponsors only?

Events / 80's music event
« on: August 15, 2011, 16:52:18 »
I know there are already music themed events, but as a child of the 80's I grew up with a lot of the disco music and Black Lace style performance.

I'd like to possibly see about arranging an 80's disco dance event with fursuiters and others joining in all the action songs. I'd suggest around half an hour at least for it to give a few songs to dance to.

There would be the need for some water, straws and a fan for the suiters. Being as all these items are resonably portable I don't see a problem if they are brought in and put back afterwards. What would definately be needed though is a bit of sound equipment. I think some might possible be brought along? :P

Again, either in a main stage area or one of the dance rooms would be fine as long as there is enough space for the suiters etc to spread out and not flail into each other.

Events / Creativity event
« on: August 15, 2011, 16:47:59 »
Last year at Confuzzled we held a small creativity event to write a short story. The outline was written in a stage direction format before being translated into a short story. The slight problem being that if it's included for the next convention's conbook it will be out of date on the theme.

There was a possibility of it being performed last year too, but there was just not enough free time to be able to do it. Hopefully, by getting in the idea early we would fit it in and find a time for a stage performance of it. Be it on the main stage or in one of the secondary event rooms with a smaller audience.

So the rough outline:

*Create short story based on current theme.
*Write into stage direction format.
*Perform using volunteer fursuiters and any guests we can rope in to perform parts.

I would suggest about an hour for the writing part with the aim of being done in 45mins, but the extra for a little overflow time. Writing up would be done outside of the main event schedule as it's simply a typing exercise. Might need some help with this as I don't generally write stage directions and such, more just text. Being as we would have little in the way of preperation time, about half an hour or so to run through things and fifteen minutes to perform.

Is it too early to put in some event suggestions/requests to run? I don't want to forget them before asking :)

Dealers Forum / Reserves on listings?
« on: April 27, 2011, 21:59:04 »
Quick question regarding reserves on auction pieces. I didn't have to ask this last year, but is there a system for putting a reserve on itmes to be sold? Or is it a simple case of put the minimum price on the piece to start with?

Off-Topic Furry Discussion / Ah internet, you amuse me
« on: January 28, 2011, 21:40:00 »
During a converstion today on the net we got talking about how drunk they were and that I could assess by distance how much they had to drink. I asked them how many fingers I was holding up. To which they replied four. I then pointed out that as I was typing the message I could not hold any fingers up typing with both hands.

Them: You are evil.

Me: No, I'm British.

Fursuiters Forum / New fursuit partial advice
« on: October 26, 2010, 18:55:18 »
Hi everyone, in order to break into fursuiting and gain some experience I have picked up a second hand partial suit which I shall definately be wearing to Confuzzled next year. I've had some experience dealing with fursuiters and first aid for them, but what I am after is more suiting advice and any tips for beginners.

As it's a partial I won't have the need to wear an under layer, but for future reference, what do you use as a body layer? I've seen things that look almost like spandex, but am not certain as to what it is.

Anything you can suggest would be most welcome!

Fursuiters Forum / Fursuit maker suggestions
« on: May 25, 2010, 01:04:02 »
Hi everyone, I'm looking a lot more seriously into getting a proper fursuit for next year. Since my craftings skills are completely nonexistant I think I will let someonelse do the making part. But this leads onto a point, the one suit maker I had picked as a possible for their quality/recommendation is not taking on suits at the moment and didn't want to do another canine one either.

So.... has anybody got any suggestions?

Off-Topic Furry Discussion / Marathon Fursuiting
« on: April 25, 2010, 21:51:27 »
Out of interest does anyone know who was fursuiting today around Green Park and Buckingham Palace today at the London Marathon? I noted a fox I'm sure I've seen out and about before as well as two other canines. If it was you as well nice to see you!

Introduce Yourself / Hello :)
« on: May 28, 2009, 19:05:04 »
I thought it might be an idea to introduce myself here. Normally it's best to know me as Silver, the full name is a bit long to really use often or SFW for shortest of all. I've been around the furry side since around 1995 back in the days of Netscape, Wolfhome and dare I say it EzBoard. First even actual convention has been Confuzzled, mainly not attending US ones due to the cost of going.

In my spare time when I'm not wolfing about I am a first aider with St. John Ambulance and a member of the special constabulary so next year I'd offer that on if the skills can be used.
