Questions and Answers / Re: ConFuzzled 2011?
« on: July 20, 2007, 07:46:00 »
We would have loved to open ConFuzzled to everyone, however the reason we've limited to 18+ is because of the Child Protection legislation.  If we were to allow under 18's to attend, there is a myriad of legal hoops we'd have to jump through along with the associated costs, something we just cannot afford in the first year at least.

IIRC, the hostel is entirely wheelchair accessible, Furble would be the best person to confirm that though, but he's without internet for a few days.  I'm sure he'll make a post here when he sees it!

I Paid Via HSBC, Yet My Profile Still Says Not Paid, I Don't Know Whats Going On
I Think I Was Told That Furble Would Let Me Know When It's Sorted Out But
I Have Not Read From Them Yet As To My Payment,

I Don't Think It's The Organisers Fault, I Think The Bank Might Be A
Bit Slow Giving Them The Info. So They Are Innocent Regarding This Matter
I've E-Mailed The Info@ Tag E-Mail. I Hope I Can Find Out What's Going On Soon.

Yours In Light But A Bit Confused.

It takes 3 clear working days for a bank transfer to be processed, cash deposits will take one clear working day I believe.  Don't forget also that someone has to go through the bank statments and reconcile the payments against attendees.  Just give it a little while, I'm sure the profile information will be updated soon.

2008 Discussion / Re: Spirituality

Myself, I'm not really at all religious, I would probably describe myself as an agnostic... I am however quite spiritual; I believe in such things as Karma and I do believe that in some why my spirit is leonine, although I can't decide if I am therian or not.

You should also be able to go into any branch of your bank with the details we send out and ask them to send the money from your account, although they may charge for the service.

Off-Topic Non Furry Discussion / Re: Television

CSI is brilliant. Like Midsomer Murdeers, you have to suspend belief a bit but still good. My fave is David Caruso as Horatio. But I have a mild weakness for redheads and alpha personalities....

Agreed, their scripts can be a little different to reality for my liking sometimes.  I'm studying an MSci degree in chemistry and several times I've been caught shouting at the TV things like "That takes 4 hours, not 20 seconds!!" :P

I've just recalled an incident where a colleague of mine attempted to steal my pen when I was working last year.... I reflexively growl/snarled at them... they didn't steal the pen, but did give me a funny look :P

I would have one, if I had the time and inclination to create myself one :P  If anyone is bored and wants to make one for me (be nice though!!) I wouldn't complain :P

Questions and Answers / Re: How Will Room Places Be Allocated?
« on: May 22, 2007, 19:03:43 »
A lot of what you'd like to know is probably covered by our various policies and terms & conditions as laid out at http://www.confuzzled.org.uk/content/en/Policies+And+Terms

Regarding the room places, as we've mentioned before there will be a system for people to place themselves into groups with people they want to share with.  Any spare places in rooms will be allocated at random to those who are not part of a group.

Questions and Answers / Re: Venues for ConFuzzled

My personal thoughts are that somewhere in the midlands is ideal on the basis that it's relatively central and considerably less expensive than almost anywhere in the south of england.

@Matt: Neat solution. Does it cost much?

The service I use for printing my photography is Photo Box, their prices are pretty reasonable I think, it rather depends on how many and what size you want the items printed.  Probably more expensive than buying a printer, but they print at photographic quality which is quite hard to reproduce with a consumer printer.

Off-Topic Non Furry Discussion / Re: Comedy and comedians
« on: May 21, 2007, 16:53:39 »
As well as the more modern comedians mentioned above, I also like the classics, such as The Goons, Round the Horn, TW3, Tony Hancock, Tommy Cooper, Benny Hill, The Goodies, The Comedians and Monty Python :)

How could I forget The Go-on Show and Monty Python!?

Virtually anything, apart from top 40 stuff, shoe-gazing guitar bands such as Coldplay, rap and what passes these days for R&B. Most music I like comes from the 1970-1990 period :)

I'm with Shep on this one :)  I'll listen to pretty much anything, most particularly stuff that is pre-1990.  Favourite artist is probably either Queen, Pink Floyd or Jethro Tull (primarily 'cos they did a song called "Bungle in the Jungle"; well worth a listen!)

Myself, I've read the complete Redwall (a good few years ago though), Swallows and Amazons (also quite a while ago) and the ongoing Discworld series, including all three "Science of the Discworld" books.  I have also read The Cleric Quintet and the Icewind Dale Trilogy from the Wizards of the Coast series "Forbidden Realms".
