There is no size limit, as long as you only decorate your door. :3

Indeed, the hotel are already aware of at least 1 attendee that intends to cover their entire door!  As long as the door number and the peep hole are on display at all times, go right ahead!

who staff wise would i email to ask more questions about this?

How can I help you Celty?  Is it something that specifically is not already answered in the website, hotels policies, or in the sub notes of the Dining page?

Cheers,

Rizzo

Hi Riaral,

from the hotels perspective, they will have other guests in, so playing of your intrument in your bedroom will have to be done so in a manner that does not cause disturbance to other guests.  Since you already refer to using headphones, cannot see this being a problem.

You will not be permitted to play it in the Lounge or lobby area, as this is a communial, public facing space that is not exclusive to the convention.  As for convention exclusive space, you will need to agree this as Rwylin pointed out, with Con ops and/or Events, whom might be able to secure you some space for practice or agree for you to play it somewhere.

Cheers,

Rizzo

Yes you can, but the hotel have very specific policies about what you can use to hang them, and attendees will be liable for any damage caused to the door.

Quote
At no time will any collateral be allowed to be stuck to our walls or windows using products such as
sticky tape, Velcro, glue, double sided sponge tape, nails, pins or tacks. This list is not exhaustive.
The use of blue
or white tack must be agreed prior to the event.

This has already been agreed with the hotel.

« on: March 22, 2014, 22:37:34 »
As per Washu's reply, Breakfast is indeed included.  If you are one of the executive room upgrade holders as well, you have the choice of breakfast either in the Boulevade, or in the executive lounge.

More details will be distributed on the website and in mailshot soon about menus, tariffs, and an announcement about a BBQ.

Cheers,

Rizzo

« on: March 08, 2014, 19:01:58 »
Not sure where you made the connection from sorry Rwylin that the nightclub will close at 11pm?  The bars are independant from the nightclub, and run by the Hilton staff.  They will not serve alcohol to anyone beyond 11pm if you are non resident.  How they implement control of that is down to them.  However, without looking at the event schedule to confirm, my assumption will be that, as per year on year, the nightclub will close around 2am.

There is a bar that is exclusive to our event, the Millers.  However, the same rule as above applies.  That said, I suspect it is highly unlikely that they will refuse to serve people whom are obviously part of our event, resident or not.  But the policy remains, and again, its up to them how they execute this.

Hope this clears things up?

It should also be noted that as well as CFz security, the hotel have their own security as well, and will obviously ask anyone seen lounging around in corners or on seats to leave if they are not resident to the hotel.  As well as that, the hotel will not serve drink to anyone that is not resident past 11pm, just as a general bit of info.

Hi GlowWolf,

please find the following answers to your question:

Check-in Time: 3pm onwards
Check-out Time: 12pm (midday)

Late check outs are subject to late fees, which are the direct responsibility of the occupants of the room, and not the Convention.

Hope this helps :)

Many thanks,

Discussion / Re: Registration Questions
« on: October 29, 2013, 00:48:39 »
Sorry to bring this up again, friends asking me about it...

So i register to stay, book room. They register to stay, but dont book room and then they select to stay with me?

@ Ellis: You both need to register and BOTH need to select residential.  If you do not select residential, you will not be assigned to a bedroom.  Additionally, if you then stay in someone elses room as an attending only guest, this is considered ghosting and if discovered, could result in both you, and the person allowing you to ghost, being ejected from the convention.

Hope this helps clear it up.

Thanks,

Rizzo

Discussion / Re: room types?

Just wondering, what sort of snacks and drinks are available in the executive lounge?

There is no set specific menu.  Its light snacks in the way of muffins, cookies, fruit, small chocolates.  They are not meant as a means to replace a full meal.  There are a selection of sandwiches during the tea time offering etc..   And soft drinks are available throughout the day, as well as tea and coffee.

Hope this helps :)

.....  is there only a certain amount of rooms with lounge access?

Any of the executive upgrades will come with executive lounge access.  So this will be Executive Doubles, Twins, and Suites.  Given the access to free refreshments, snacks, and alcohol, the price tags might seem steep, but they are significantly reduced compared to day-to-day prices, and well worth the value for money.  All executive rooms are also homed within their own wing too, as far away from the noise of the function space as possible, so another added benefit.

Thanks for clearing that up....... i got a little confused because the wording on the site only states evening service on one of the rooms while the others just state lounge access.

Hi Rwylin,

could you point out where it says this please?  I have just read through all the upgrade options, and I cannot see where it specifically says one room upgrade only had evening access.  If that is the case, I want to correct it.

As Tungro has pointed out, the information is there on the website under executive lounge.  Essentially, if you pay for an upgrade, you get access, irrespective of whether you are in the Queen exec, Junior Suite, or Kings suite, the type of access and when remains the same across the board.

Thanks :)

@Rwylin

2 person room shares only.  There are no other configuration options available within our room block for more than 2 people per room
