They whined about us and the quality of the hotel.
On returning to the hotel at about 11pm the bar was full of furry animals sprawled out over the sofas some behaving inappropriately, more club 18-30 than Hilton, so we were unable to have a drink as planned as it was an uncomfortable atmosphere.

I think that's a troll :) And even if it weren't ... that must absolutely look hilarious for someone to read who didn't know what kind of event was going on that day :)
-
I don't think this was a troll but perhaps someone who was not happy to share the hotel with an active convention. Best to ignore and carry on.
-
Some person with a sense of priveledge who clearly can't grasp the hotel can't revolve around him.

This made my day :p

Altho, it should probably be restated that yes, the Pool and Jacuzzi are public areas that not only will other hotel guests share, but are open to the general public as a gym and health spa. (I assume their main business is Airport and Airline employees.) So yeah, be on good behaviour in there, because you will be sharing that area with families!
Since this is actually a different company from the hotel (LivingWell) private use of the pool area is not something I think the Con staff can negotiate. But perhaps it could be better stated at the opening ceremony/in the con book, not just as the reason why you can't use inflatables.

Just one guest. Hardly a big deal. Most of the hotel loved us.
-
His problem is that he had to see McBusted for his daughter. That would be enough to cause anyone to lash out XD

I do think it's important to look at his opinion while stepping back from the fact that we have personal involvement in the furry fandom.
If you have no experience or knowledge of the fandom, or what we do, wouldn't you find it a bit strange? If you went there for a quiet stay but instead found a hotel full of excitable people in strange costumes, wouldn't you think it was a bit odd?
A lot of us have been very quick to label this guy as a hater or a dick, to be honest I can understand his perspective. Especially as he wasn't told what would be happening while he was there.

Yeah, but his comment really shouldn't be used to criticise the hotel. After all, his grievance comes mostly not at the hotel, but at the people staying there. I think it's silly he gives the hotel a low score just because he just didn't get us.

I think it's a fair criticism to make if you weren't informed that you'd be staying there during an event. You review your experience on Trip Advisor, not just the hotel itself.

Send him a tshirt with "Furries ruin everything" on it :P

Would be better for a group of furs to glomp him as punishment for being such a complainer.
He probably the sort of customer that the hotel staff wish they didn't have to deal with.

Folks, I can see why some of us might be upset about this feedback, but please end the discussion here or at least keep it objective.
This person is a single individual and there won't be any effect on our convention. No matter what you might think about this, please don't spam this thread with off topic or even threatening posts. I hate to moderate. :3
-
actually, reading the post he states he's a Hilton diamond member, and as far as i'm aware there was only one there during the convention. On top of this i believe all regular guests were informed that there was an event going on over the week, Rizzo would have to confirm this.

On the plus side most visitors to the hotel were pleased to see us, While in suit I was asked to pose for photos with visitors on a few occasions.

Okay folks, I think we discussed this topic back and forth for long enough. I asked you to try and stay objective but obviously there isn't any more to say about this. Topic closed.
