Title: Old drunkard getting dragged to Confuzzled
Post by: Unclekage on February 24, 2009, 17:27:01
Due to some merciless browbeating by a certain big blue fox, along with a small but welcome bonus from my employer, I am going to be able to attend Confuzzled.  I was permitted to register after the official "full" announcement only on the following conditions:

1)  I must sleep in the coat room.
2)  I am required to work 2 hours each night washing dishes in the hostel's kitchen.

Still, I am very happy to be able to go.  I have heard only the highest of praise for everyone who runs it.

Hmm, theres a direct door between the Kitchen and the bars store room. We might want to look at fitting a better lock to the wine firdge

Now I'm seriously considering revising my bet as to how many times the bar staff will have to restock over the weekend.

Any advance on last year's total of three trips to the cash and carry?

Didn't last year the cash and carry sell out of booze because of us and the hostel staff had to go to the local Sainsburys?

For a price, I'll remain sober and carry out high-speed runs to the cash n'carry :P

Heh, good to see you on board, Uncle Kage, will be good to see your fine self again :)

Something like that but I think they just went to Tesco's first.

No, they actually went to Sainsburys, not tesco.

Ah I heard at the time it was the tescos that bore the brunt, guess I was wrong.

hi,
am a member of hostel staff and we were just having a nose around your forum and can clarify the following:
* 2 emergency booze trips were made last year- neither to sainsburys or tescos but to our old booze suppliers - oddbins
* the emergency booze supplies were needed cos we had ordered loads of lager and weren't prepared for so many ale drinkers - our bad! won't happen again tho
* there may have been a sainsburys trip for limes and coke (but defo not tesco's)
* Uncle Kage- we haven't been made aware of your kind offer to do the washing up but you're more than welcome! i will inform the kitchen staff to expect a new porter for the weekend, thanks.
HOpe this clears things up, and i promise we won't run out of booze this time!
looking forward to seeing y'all soon
