Questions and Answers / Re: Venues for ConFuzzled
« on: May 21, 2007, 13:30:39 »
That does raise a good point. Given the planning for the 2008 event must have started late 2005/early 2006, will planning for 2009 have to start early in 2008, so before the first one is even out of the way? It would certainly make it tricky deciding on whether to move venue for 2009 before we've even had one at the venue.

I am aware that some basic investigation is underway for alternative venues, but at the moment the key focus of the team is getting enough people signed up to run the 2008 event.  I would personally expect decisions regarding an event in 2009 will most likely be made in early 2008.

Off-Topic Non Furry Discussion / Re: Comedy and comedians

Comedians;  Jasper Carrott, George Carlin plus others already mentioned...

Comedy shows, I'm a definite fan of QI and HIGNFY.  I also rather like some of the Radio4 comedy stuff like "The 99p Challenge", "I'm sorry, I haven't a clue!" and "Just a minute".

Off-Topic Non Furry Discussion / Re: Television

I've found myself watching more and more TV recently... possibly as a way to escape revising for my finals.  Generally I'll be watching CSI, Scrubs, House, Stargate SG1, JAG or Dr Who;  either as they're being broadcast for having been "aquired" by other means so I don't have to suffer the adverts.

I've been told that I reflect the attitude of a lion quite effectively; I'm generally rather lazy except when it comes to matters of importance such as making sure I get a good meal!  I also have a fair bit of a mane whenever I get a chance to let it grow long enough.

I have been known to mewl, growl and purr (I know lions can't actually purr though) on occasion although I've not quite got the hang of roaring yet, don't think my vocal chords are up to it.

Off-Topic Furry Discussion / Re: Furry Artwork!

My printer is rubbish. So I can't show mine off to its best advantage, which is a shame, since I'm trying to get out there.

If you want to get high quality prints done of your art, you could always make use of one of the many online printing services where they print your photo/art and then mail the prints to you.

Questions and Answers / Re: Methods of payment
« on: May 21, 2007, 13:12:11 »
Due to a failure on the part of Royal Mail, we are currently unable to accept payments by paypal or other methods (more details in the FAQ : http://www.confuzzled.org.uk/content/en/Frequently+Asked+Questions ) but we will be getting details out to everyone who has registered as soon as we possibly can.  We will be asking for payment within two weeks of the details being sent out.

Bank Transfers wouldn't be using your Maestro card, you would need to go to the local branch of your bank or use their internet/telephone banking service.

Off-Topic Non Furry Discussion / Postal/Courier Services

Well at least DHL can deliver things when they say they will, and without loosing it :P
Unfortunately, I've found that isn't always true.... I had something due to arrive on a "Next Day" service; they tried to deliver about 3 days after the day it was due, and of course I wasn't there at the time, so they left a card to collect it from the depot.

I dutifully phoned them up, made the appointment to collect the parcel, drove the 30 minutes to my local depot to sit in their waiting room for about an hour while they hunted for the package which the person I'd spoken to on the phone had assured me was in the collection office.  In the end they decided they'd lost it and I had to get the stuff reshipped, ended up getting it about two weeks later, which makes me wonder why I paid for a next day service.

I appeared right away when I did mine.

You will see yourself instantly, but others may not see you until I authorise the new pins on the map... or so the help page tells me

129
I should also note that it can take a little while for new members to appear on the map, since I have to approve the addition of each one.

130
I've got a frappr account but it doesn't seem to be linking the map to the "MyMaps" bit of same...Could be because there isn't a "custom name" set for the map yet or something?

Hmmmmm, I don't know why that is.... it should appear in the MyMaps bit.... the custom name is "confuzzled2008" (http://www.frappr.com/confuzzled2008/).  The reason could possibly be related to the fact that you're not appearing in the members list for the map either, so it would seem not to have added you properly.

131
I'm not sure which events I'll be attending, but will probably be dipping in and out of them as and when I get some spare time :P  Hopefully I won't have to attend any of the events in my offical capacity ;)

132
Well, they seem to have fixed our list of members, but they seem to have accidentally removed Cerebus and Devilwuff in the process >.<  You may have to re-add yourselves I'm afraid.

133
If anyone has problems with the Frappr map, then please let me know and I'll see what I can do to help.  I am currently aware that there is an issue with the list of members for the map, and I have submitted a support request to Frappr about that and hope to have it resolved soon.

Off-Topic Furry Discussion / Re: fursuit videos
« on: May 18, 2007, 21:40:08 »
I'm afraid the the forum will not allow use of the <object> HTML tag so youtube videos cannot be embedded into posts.  You will need to provide a link to youtube instead.

Alternatively, use the "Insert Flash" button on the post formatting toolbar;
http://www.youtube.com/v/0d4iOgffKc4

Although.... that doesn't seem to work right either... and now I see why; flash embedding is disabled as it can pose a security risk.
