Events / Xi Cards Events - Confirmed
« on: October 22, 2014, 11:21:51 »
Hello one and all.

In light of the success of the Magic: the Gathering booster draft event run by Vulpine at the last ConFuzzled I wanted to see how many people would be interested in learning a new card game called Xi Cards.

Xi Cards
Xi Cards is an upcoming strategic card game with an easy to learn, hard to master rules system. Set in the "World of Xi", Xi cards lets you battle with four factions and two ancient powers to determine the fate of the planet. (Description from the product website.)

The official website can be found here.

Event Details
The event will be taking place on Monday evening, between 20:00 - 00:00. The price to participate in the event is £10.00, with 20% of the proceeds going to this years charity. In exchange for this entry fee participants will receive eight booster packs, each containing nine cards. The top four players will also receive one of the pre-con decks each.

Sub Event 1 - Tutorial and Pre-constructed Deck Play
An ideal place for new players to start, I will give a not too lengthy run down of the game rules and mechanics, with demonstrations to help you learn how to play. Followed by 1v1 games using the games pre-constructed decks to allow you to experience the game for yourself using balanced decks.

Sub Event 2 - Sealed Deck Tournament
Players receive eight sealed packs with which to construct a deck and then compete against other players and their sealed decks in a tournament style format. Good for players that like to challenge themselves to do well with limited resources.

Discussion / Re: Smoking outside the hotel entrance
« on: May 27, 2014, 23:46:51 »
I too would like this addressed, if people want to smoke then that is there own choice and not my place to say yes or no, but having to walk through a crowd of smokers every time I want to go to and from the car was an unpleasant experience.

Discussion / Vegetarian Dining Options
« on: May 18, 2014, 16:56:33 »
Hello CFz staff.

I was doing a last minute look over the dining options for myself and my fiancée (both vegetarian) to decide how much money we should bring along for food and noticed something in the menu we would like clarification on.

Since the number of vegetarian options on the menu is quite limited (as is the norm so don't assume I am grumbling) I noticed something that may make them inadvertently less than listed due to an ingredient listed in one of the dishes that may be being used in other vegetarian dishes.

Dinner Menu
Penne Pasta with spicy tomato sauce and parmesan (v)

Genuine Parmesan cheese can't be made without including Rennet (a complex of enzymes produced in any mammalian stomach, and is often used in the production of cheese) which is an ingredient not compatible with vegetarian eating habits. Would it be possible to find out if the Parmesan they are using at the the hotel is genuine and therefore not suitable as a vegetarian dining option in any meal it is included in or are they using an alternative vegetarian friendly option.

The below link provides more info on the subject should you wish to read further.

Thanks for all the work on the menu regardless of how this turns out. ;)

Thanks for the quick reply, I expect I will drag my laptop along anyway in that case. ;)

With regards to the Artemis slots on the Event Schedule for Saturday and Monday is there anything special happening like a tournament or some such or is it just free play?

Do I need to bring my own laptop or are you setting up pre-linked computers for this? How many people are actually interested in it and willing to participate? (This will decide whether it is actually worth me bringing my laptop along at all.)

Introduce Yourself / Re: Greetings all...
« on: June 26, 2013, 14:42:54 »
It has been a while since I dropped into this forum as the red text at the top of the page keeps reminding me.

Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.

I attended my first Confuzzled convention FINALLY this year after years of wanting to and being unable. I went down with my girlfriend Olivitree and we both had an amazing time. I made plenty of new friends in the gaming area and want to give an extra specila shout out to Shaman for running the 'Who's lion is it...' the highlight of the weekend for me and I will be doing it again next year.

Introduce Yourself / Greetings all...

I have done so many of these intros over the years i should be able to just roll it all off, but its always a struggle. *Sigh*

Wel back on track. Name, whatever you want i guess seeing as my username is a litle bit of a mouthful: Noon, Moon, Nooners are all good options. I would settle for Noonikinz, a name given to me by a friend. Apparently i am her pet cat.  ;D

I enjoy creative writing, i participate in plenty of RolePlays on forums. My main one at presnt being a furry one with plenty of good storys underway. I am a keen gamer, Final Fantasy being a particular favourite of mine. I love animals as i suspect most of you do and have a wide assortment of pets ranging from cats and mice to lizards and a lovebird.

Other than that just feel free to ask anything and everything, i am always up for a good conversation and i am online most evenings and every other night on all-nighter stints.
