Discussion / Aurora's Confuzzled 2014 Photos
« on: May 29, 2014, 11:29:24 »
Around 280 photos 500 photos are here almost all fursuiters with just a few more pics to follow.

All are resized to 1280 x 960, typical file size per photo is 200kB.

I have many other photos, of the hotel in general, CFz signage(such as the Brok cut-outs), the retro gaming machines, is it worth me uploading these as well?

CFz was great this year, thanks to all the Confuzzled staff and volunteers for working tirelessly and making it all possible, they really did us proud.

Queues this year were kept to a minimum which I attribute to better organisation.

The PawPet show was awesome only spoiled slightly by a slight fault with the RH projector losing signal intermittently.

The fursuit lounge was huge, well equipped and for the first time had mirrors.

The food selection was great and the hotel staff were courteous and helpful.

As previously announced the outside areas were limited and certainly not as picturesque as at the old hotel, but lots of space inside the hotel.

Thankfully the weather stayed dry during the fursuit parade so that it included outside areas which was good.

I feel the fursuit group photo would have been better if it were taken outside the hotel in the car park, the overlooking balconies would give everyone a birds eye view for taking photos.

I look forward to attending CFz again next year.  :)

Feedback / Re: What is it with the lack of chairs?

I attended the opening and closing ceremonies in my fursuit, my feet got a little numb from standing in the same spot but otherwise OK.

Maybe you could bring one of those fold-up deck chairs next year and take it with you to the events.

Since I took so many photos this year, I've decided to upload them all onto Drop Box for you to enjoy. The links to the individual folders are as follows;

Day 1 (23rd May): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/iid82inb.....BwMFGygBRZaMva

Day 2 (24th May): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/finj253x.....8MNH3mji02nhka

Day 3 (25th May): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cob6n1vv.....NRG0EQesF-NNDa

Day 4 (26th May): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k2p9jqll.....Qzkzp9kuEhsLSa

Day 5 (27th May): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1s77g0ar.....4yk-l20lITm2Wa

If you find yourself, either post where you are or feel free to upload it to your own gallery, you may be in more than one.

Hope you all had a great time.

All the links give "Error (404)" for me?

I'm bringing 2 rolls of black thread and a pack of needles.

Also bringing a Bostik hot glue gun and some glue sticks.

I probably won't need them, my suit is quite well constructed but bringing them just in case.

Fursuit badge submissions are now closed Im afraid.  They were announced on all the regular social mediums that we use for communications.  Best option is to ensure you sign up to our news feeds, twitter account, and monitor the forums regularly.

Cheers,

Rizzo

No worries, I had been checking since registering but gave up after a while and assumed fursuit badges were a one-off for CFz2013. Now notes that they were announced on page 5 of the main announcements pages.

Hi Aurora,

there is a concierge desk in reception that you can leave luggage with.  Bear in mind that its customary to often tip people on concierge, so might be advisable to have some loose change handy.

Cheers,

Rizzo

Hi
Thanks for the info I suspect there will be quite a few arriving before the rooms are ready, last year at the old hotel they had a small room near reception for holding cases and other items.

23
I will be arriving on the 22nd and I understand that our rooms will be accessible after 3:00pm, if I arrive at say 11:00am is there any secure storage for cases and other belongings as I wouldn't want to have to sit with my cases or drag them around the hotel?

You don't register fursuits - you only register yourself once which you already did when you selected your attendance type, room type etc. - you can bring as many (or as few) fursuits as you like  8)

The fursuit badges are entirely optional and are just a little nifty idea so people can recognise the owner of a particular suit when they're not wearing it - it's not a requirement that you have one for each suit. They're now closed for submitting fursuit badges (the deadline was April 30th if I recall correctly).

The only badge that you must wear whilst at the convention is your official conbadge, which you'll be given when you turn up.

I didn't know there were fursuit badges this year, at the time I uploaded my standard badge pic I could find no mention of fursuit badges or an upload link.

Discussion / Re: What time is check-in/out?
« on: March 03, 2014, 01:28:46 »
Hi GlowWolf,

please find the following answers to your question:

Check-in Time: 3pm onwards
Check-out Time: 12pm (midday)

Late check outs are subject to late fees, which are the direct responsibility of the occupants of the room, and not the Convention.

Hope this helps :)

Many thanks,

Rizzo
I'm a none residential member, do these times apply for every day? :)

3:00pm is presumably the earliest you should arrive if attending the day before (I have booked the extra day before), I assume that applies to non-residential as well as residential. 12:00pm is the latest you should vacate your room on the last day of the con which won't apply to non-residential. Last year the hotel staff were great and allowed me an extra hour to leave the room as I was attending one of the late events, they had secure storage for my cases so I didn't have to sit with them while I awaited for my transport home.

It would be interesting to know what times the rooms are ready if attending the day before as wouldn't want to be hanging around until my room is available?

Room & Transport Sharing / Looking for a roomshare
« on: January 28, 2014, 00:12:26 »
I have booked into a standard twin room (with two beds) and am looking for a roomshare.

I am a 45 y/o straight male.

I will be attending from the 23rd to 27th May and also early arrival 22nd to 23rd may.

This will be my third year at CFz, I am a fursuiter and will be bringing my fursuit.

I am usually up around 8:00am and asleep by about midnight. I don't snore.

I don't smoke and won't be drinking at CFz, and certainly no room parties.

PM me if interested I have also posted for a roomshare on UKFur.

part 2 on the standard def seemed to be the same vid as part 1 =/

The two most highest resolution videos are definitely different, part 1 is 10 minutes longer than part 2.

You are right clicking on the video links and selecting 'Save Link As' to save the videos to your PC and not simply clicking on the video links which depending on your system could stream the video to a Firefox window or to your media player?

I left both parts to download overnight, one part stalled so I had to pause the download and restart it again to get it to finish.

Taking a quick look through I see myself a few times, I just need a few hours of peace to watch the videos in full.

is part 2 the same vid? i have to get the standard def one because of god awful net connection

Part 2 is a different video to part 1 so you need both.
