Feedback / Re: Headless Fursuiters...
« on: June 09, 2013, 18:00:29 »

Think of it a bit like a puppet show. You try to keep heads and arms out of shot and you want the audience to see the character and not you.
It would be like if a few of the puppeteers for the heck of it just poking their heads or arms out. (This might annoy you and others for example)

Avenue Q comes to mind right about now! xD
Quick, ignore the humans!

Everything accommodates the finger dance. EVERYTHING!

Okay, thanks guys. I'll be sure to ask about it before the day I need it just to make sure xP.

Discussion / Taxis in Hinckley?
« on: April 19, 2013, 00:31:25 »
Okay, so this is pretty simple- I need a Taxi at around 6AM from the hotel to the train station (all in Hinckley) and does anyone know if they run that early in such a small town?

Off-Topic / Stupid exams!
« on: March 19, 2013, 11:49:03 »
Grr >:c Last year I had to miss the last day of the convention because the exam team had to put exams nearly a month after the last lecture, and they refused to move it.

This year... it's at the beginning of the convention which on the face of it doesn't seem so bad... until my early arrival comes into play. So... great... the exams were supposed to match the same day we have the lectures on, and not peek outside of May- and the exam that's the problem now should have been on a Tuesday, all snuggled up a good couple of days from trouble.

In retrospect, I shouldn't have touched early arrival even if the usual system of exam-on-same-day-as-lecture meant that I should have been in the clear.
But still- WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
>-< So now I have to either have wasted £50 in booking an early room... or waste even more money going to Confuzzled on the early day, then getting up really early the next day (5AM early) and chugging down there on a train... just to come back up again.

I'll never know why the examination team doesn't put up a 'template' for the exams, so that maybe a few dates can be moved around before it goes 'solid'. As it is, the exam dates come out and BAM, that's it. Another convention spoiled by the tyranny of examinations.

I've always preferred essays anyway.

Events / Re: Basics of fursuiting (with a twist) ?
« on: March 18, 2013, 01:29:09 »

Lord no! O.O think of the damage to the suit paws!

Oh yeah... I suppose spikes can damage the suit. The people inside will be fine, though. :P

It might be worth having that little chair obstacle course you mentioned... maybe also filming the suiters as they go about it, then showing them the footage afterwards. That would require equipment, mind you... but seeing yourself on film in a situation where your suit-awareness would be low sounds like it could help some folks out. And I am totally a video-hog. All cameras on me please

It sounds like a neat idea... Lord knows I waddle like a fat penguin on a rocking boat that is also spinning on a round-about while in suit and will trip over anything that lies in front of me... but how do you actually propose to help people with that?

Part of it comes down to spatial awareness (which does seem to be an inherited trait... or at least configured very early in life), heat tolerance... claustrophobia... ability to concentrate etc.
Maybe throwing a bunch of odd-footed fursuits into a room filled with pointy objects lying on the floor might force us to learn and learn fast... but that may perhaps require an ethics form. Just maybe. :P

Curious- if checkout time is 11AM... how come it doesn't go 'exclusive' when all the other guests pre-con have to leave before that time?

Is it harder to paint on wood than paper (even though they're like... the same material but... different)? Cause I'm already abysmal at painting on paper xD I'd hate to get a little shieldy-doo and just wreck it as soon as the tip touches the surface! >-<

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello! Guest of Honour Here-
« on: September 10, 2012, 00:14:27 »
Oh, why not?
Okay...

FavOurite ColoUr (:P) is usually purple, but I also like green and red lots too! My preferences for colours can vary with my mood, but pink and yellow are usually off the table!

My ultimate dream... Well, for one that I can realise in my lifetime (for the others are quite simply impossible) I want to get a nice big plot of land to create a biiig enclosure called 'the fox garden' where I'll breed foxes for intelligence of different types- training intelligence, puzzle solving intelligence, social intelligence etc. etc.- which will also provide an insight to the causal link between genetics and intelligence. SCIENCE FOR THE WIN!
I have got a long way to go yet, and I'm going to have to be verrrry careful on ethics; I only want happy foxies; but I will try and try hard until I get my dream *cape billows gallantly in the wind)

Cake or Death!? Eddie Izzard! OMG! <3<3<3
I love you.
:]
Also- cake.

Now for you... Urhm... do you have any idea if you'll be hosting events at Confuzzled 2013? Like... a drawing tutorial session or some such thing? That would be nice to go to :3 I could learn some things from you methinks.

You can put in your registration form if you're a vegetarian. The hotel has a proper restaurant and should have plenty of food for even the pickiest of eaters.

Also- like the person above me said- you can get to know someone from around here who is going and try to find someone you're comfortable with. If you pick a double room with only two people you will both have a bed to yourselves as well. I spent minimal time in my room last year and the stranger I was sharing a room with (for I put no person in the box and was given someone at random) did not get in my way whatsoever.
^-^ I know it can be stressful going to your first convention, but you'll have to take little things like having very limited single rooms with a pinch of salt. You might not even grab a single in 2014 since those things were sold-out so very quickly.

Discussion / Payment- amount outstanding
« on: September 06, 2012, 22:52:36 »
I'm not sure if this is just google checkouts needing extra moneys for... using moneys but payment information is telling me that the amount outstanding is: "£ -13.12" Which (assuming the minus sign is important) is a problem as my registration won't be complete until that goes away. I paid for the entire thing before, and I'm pretty sure the surcharge was included in the overall price I was paying.
Am I just supposed to wait for the team to get through it, or is this an error? If it wasn't for the time-limit on how soon you have to pay your fee I'd probably just sit back and wait for something to happen but I've only got a day and I'm a little concerned as a result.
