I've done it for 4 other years, so this year is no different. My own lot of photos are now online in the usual place:-

I have already posted up some links to the Google Cache versions of the travel page on UK Fur this morning, which should hopefully be enough for everyone to find where they're going.

Questions and Answers / Re: Whats up with payments?
« on: July 07, 2007, 22:51:09 »
Both Credit and Debit Cards have the same usually 16 digit number across the middle (there are occasionally some slight differences in the number of digits, most notably with HSBC), they just often name the field on these forms as 'credit card' number as they were more geared towards an audience of American viewers (Where debit cards are pretty much non-existant). As long as it has the Maestro, Switch or Solo logo on the card itself, you should be able to enter it okay on the form. Electrons could be more tricky as they're not listed, but might work anyway as part of their Visa support. The 'CVC' number it asks for is also present on both Credit and Debit cards as the last 3 digits on the back of the card in the signature strip.

Can anyone tell I work developing ecommerce websites... :P

Just looking at signup on Google Checkout, I can see Maestro and Solo listed on there, so they must accept some Debit Cards. Perhaps it just wasn't picking you up as being UK Based if it was only showing credit cards instead.

How did all you guys get round MC's requirement on having a duct-tape dummy for full suits? Everyone I know finds them a bitch to make, and then there's getting them sent over to the US in the first place without damage. :P

That does raise a good point. Given the planning for the 2008 event must have started late 2005/early 2006, will planning for 2009 have to start early in 2008, so before the first one is even out of the way? It would certainly make it tricky deciding on whether to move venue for 2009 before we've even had one at the venue.

Off-Topic Non Furry Discussion / Re: Postal/Courier Services

We've had both external clients, and some of our own in-house things using both couriers and Royal Mail in the past. All of us have pretty much abandoned the external courier firms now however, and not for reasons of cost either. From experience over time, for all RM do manage to mess up more than they should, they do it an awful lot less than any of the courier firms, and yet still charge considerably less for the privilege.

Nice little picture from the recent mini-meet in York, showing Greyscar (I think) in the train station, whilst an innocent old guy tries to pretend not to notice...
