Events / Events Ideas
« on: October 11, 2011, 11:53:11 »
Update 01/04/2012 - We're now closed for new event submissions for the 2012 convention that will be published in the conbook.  You may still be able to host an event but it likely won't be in our conbook or printed timetable, but can be published in our online timetable at http://events.confuzzled.org.uk/2012/ or advertised on the Convention Noticeboard outside the Convention Operations office.  If you have already emailed your suggestion to events@confuzzled.org.uk then we should be able to include it in the conbook.

Original Post:

We are always interested in new event ideas, and with the new venue this year we should be able to run even more events than before.

If you've an idea for an event you'd like to run, or you'd like to see run, please continue to post them in this area of the forum. It is probably best to separate each idea out into a different topic (thread) and set the subject to the name of the new event.  This way others can add their thoughts too.

Obviously include a description of your event.  It would be really helpful if you could indicate if you want to be involved in running it; perhaps you've got expertise in the subject.  If it is something you'd like to participate in, perhaps suggest people who might be good people to run the event.

Currently we are in the process of setting up the timetable system, and working out where and when the big stage events fit.  Once that is done we will begin looking at the ideas here, things that people have mailing into the events team, the new ideas staff have come up with, events from previous years, and so on.

Please don't be discouraged by the lack of immediate feedback - every idea will be considered!

Announcements (CF2008-CF2011) / A message from the Board of Directors
« on: November 26, 2009, 11:58:03 »
It is with regret that the staff of ConFuzzled must announce the departure of our chairman, FurbleFox. He has chosen to step down from his role, for his own personal reasons.

Over the years, he has put a large amount of time and effort into making the convention what it has become, and without him it would likely never have happened. For everything he has done, we are hugely grateful and owe him the most sincere thanks.

An announcement will follow soon regarding the appointment of the new chairman of the convention, and we hope that you will join us in welcoming them to the role as we prepare fervently for 2010.

We look forward to seeing you all in May for another incredible ConFuzzled!

You need to know where your towel is.  If you are a fursuiter, you need to know where your towels are.  Most importantly, your towel will not be provided  by the YHA in Manchester (it's a four star hostel, not hotel).  Similarly, the hostel won't be providing flannels.  Probably no shampoo, shower gel, little tubes of toothpaste, diddy bars of soap, slippers, shoe shine kits, shower caps, or executive bath robes either.

You do get a duvet, a pillow, and blankets (should you need them).  There's no turn down service, no delicate minty choccy on your pillow when you retire for the night.  In fact, your bed will look exactly the same as the way you left it.  Do not leave your shoes outside your bedroom door expecting them to be cleaned when you get up.  There are no early morning alarm calls, or even early afternoon ones, and no all day breakfast!

2008 Discussion / [2008] Two weeks!
« on: June 06, 2008, 08:47:43 »
In two weeks time I'll be waking up in the YHA, having driven up the night before.  Staff members will be starting work on turning the venue into ConFuzzled, and getting ready to open registration at 3:30pm.  As the regular guests check out furries will be arriving, so what time do you plan to be there?

Introduce Yourself / Really wolfy, a little bit husky
« on: May 17, 2007, 14:57:30 »
Hiyas,

David Cooke signing in, wolfy fur/therian going a bit grey around the muzzle, part time husky fursuiter (Kibble), and known online in various places as Dingotush (a reference to Jeff Noon's quazi-furry novels, set in Manchester, home of Confuzzled), though not in fact a dingo.  Denizen of Milton Keynes, responds to Dave, David, Oi!, Dingo, ...  Want to know more?

Also a Confuzzled staff member on the events team, helping to plan and ensure they run smoothly.
