2008 Discussion / Re: T-Shirt Contest designs: Which do you prefer?

Oh and if it is accepted I might even put the oginal scribble up for sale (just remmber to bump the price tag if it wins).

Hehe, Capitalism at it's best I s'pose  :P

So far as I know, everything is being accepted as an entry, it just takes a little time to process said entry. I'm sure you'll see/hear something about it sooner rather than later.

Major issue is that part of Dusk's standard armament is his AK47 and Mk23 SOCOM assault pistol, both of which I own Airsoft versions of, but as they are RIFs (Replica Imitation Firearms), that although we are allowed to use them for Airsoft the Violent Crime Reduction act says they are not to be used in public since they are that realistic. So I can't bring them, even if unloaded and with no battery or gas.

Too illegal and too dangerous. Police seeing me with them can get me shot. And that would not be good for the Airsoft community or the furry fandom.

EDIT: Bouncing off walls now! I have paid for CF! I'm on my way!

Whilst I'm in no way completely familiar with the current laws on airsoft weapons (Despite being quite interested enough in the sport to own a Star L86 (That thing was expensive!)), I'm pretty sure that having the Mk23 at the venue, so long as it is in a holster, peace-bound and barrel-plugged, should be OK. The AK, I'm not so sure about, but the Weapons Policy says replica firearms must be holstered at al times in convention space, and I've yet to find an AK holster  :P. This might be something worth asking in the Q&A forum, that way you can get input from ConOps and Security, rather than just your friendly, gun-totting Media Relations  ;).

And for the record, the VCRA/B/Whatever just reiterates the "Don't be a fool and wave it around in public" bit that's been law since, well, a long time ago. Also, I think that if the police saw them and shot you, it wouldn't just be bad for airsoft and furry, but for you too ;D.

Speak for yourself, LOL. I'm discussing bits of my costume for Dusk. He wears BDUs as standard. I'm getting a Sangluna badge to match and all.

Hehe. Well I'm always in BDU's, I'd give a shiny shilling to anyone who can find a picture of me in suit without at lease one piece of tactical gear. It's just how my suit is: Professional soldier for hire.  :D

*shouts* Ok everyfur, paddles at the ready! :P
*gets a boat paddle*

Well I don't approve of this...
its mainly to compensate for distance and upper body strength <<; honest

It doesn't make it any more fun.

And I agree, this is waaay off topic. I think we should use that boat paddle to steer this back in the right direction

Hmmm... I gots me some of those  ;) Can't fault them, but every man and his dog has a set these days (You husky proving the later part of that saying  :P)

I'm actually after something a little different for my suit, but haven't decided exactly what just yet. I'm bored with my Flecktarn. Yeah, I have a short attention span  :D

I think I may have to table a motion to repeal your prize for thinking you can watch Monty Python too much. That is simply not the case, and I put it to my right honourable friend that... wait, sorry... I appear to have slipped into politician mode. That'll teach me to have BBC Parliament on in the background for most of the day...

Dont worry, we can also blame the post in my quote thing and my slip-up on monty python on the politicians

I don't know what you mean... I see no slip up... *shifty eyes*
