Feedback / Video Games Room + Artists' Alley
« on: May 31, 2014, 22:19:47 »
I was quite pleased with the facilities provided within both the Video Games Room and Artists' Alley; the Video Games room was spacious to allow storage of several volunteering consoles and games whilst the Artists' Alley, either as part of the hotel or just someone volunteering, supplied various teas. However, there is one thing that I don't understand...

Both Lancaster and York, despite, from what I could gather, being allocated to the convention's use, were only really used from 8pm onwards. I'm surprised that both rooms weren't open earlier or throughout the day. I can understand if it's a matter that only Pantharas and Rin for the Games Room and Alley respectively were the only ones to volunteer to run those rooms - both of which did a very good job by the way, keeping it a friendly environment - but would it be possible that, from next year, there could be a rotating volunteer process to keep them running for longer?

Also, one thing that I noticed about the video games room is the lack of gaming events. I know there was a Halo Tournament and Super Smash Bros, but I'm surprised that these were the only events taking place. Does the convention only run these events based on requests from the convention goers or do they have a set of events they want to do, but these were the most popular/feasible? If you want, I could easily bring in Just Dance again next year or we could hold racing tournaments?

Discussion / Curiouser... Contrariwise... Confuzzled 2015
« on: May 31, 2014, 11:36:37 »
I'm looking forward to getting started for Confuzzled 2015. Is it a little too early to begin preparations, I've already made something for the conbook?

Discussion / Feedback From The Lantern Project
« on: May 29, 2014, 09:59:17 »
Many of you probably know about the large lantern project I made for the charity auction at Confuzzled this year; many of you were actually in it. Therefore, I would very much appreciate some feedback on it, if you wouldn't mind answering a few questions.

1. Were you in the project, if so, what lantern?

2. Did you enjoy the artistic style?

3. Did you add me to your watch list just for the lantern project?

4. If I attempted a project similar to this, would you sign up for it?

This is just for Confuzzled Attendees;

5. Did you see the print in the art show?

6. Did you attempt to bid or know someone who did?

7. Was it well placed?

8. Was the price about right?

I hope to hear from as many of you as possible.

Events / Some last Few Questions
« on: May 18, 2014, 22:06:43 »
Okay, there were some last few questions about the Convention I wanted to get out of the way before I get ready to go.

1. Will there be a sewing station at the Convention this year in the Fursuit Lounge? If it weren't for the sewing station last year, my trip would have been ruined. Will there be a return or will I have to bring my own?

2. I plan to pack a lot of my luggage in vacuum storage bags, so I can carry more. Will it be possible to borrow a vacuum to drain the air again on the return trip?

3. I've registered a number of prints for the art show. Is it possible to check which ones I've listed and under what name?

4. What kind of cookies does Brok prefer?

Thanks.

Discussion / Registering Multiple Fursuits
« on: May 03, 2014, 08:30:31 »
I'm not sure what the policy is for multiple fursuits, but I figured I would look into what might be happening about it.

At the moment, I am currently waiting for new fursuit to be made and I am worried it might not be ready in time for the convention. I do, however, have a back up, just in case, a fursuit my friend says he's happy to let me use. My main concern is, will I have to register this one as well for a fursuit badge?

Discussion / EU Voting (which countries have to vote)
« on: April 27, 2014, 10:02:36 »
It's been brought to the attention that the first day of Confuzzled falls on the election day for EU representatives. Of course, this won't affect most of us, but some countries in the EU do enforce a compulsory voting program.

I have done some fact checking only four countries will be affected by this;
Belgium, Cyprus, Greece and Luxembourg.

If you're not from these regions, you don't have to worry about voting, unless you wish to do so. My advice is to have your vote cast by postal vote. I am still currently looking into how to file for exemption, but you presumably could find out by talking to a local government office.

Events / Werewolves
« on: April 23, 2014, 13:47:19 »
I just noticed that the Surrey Room on Sunday has an hour block for "Werewolves" for this year's convention. I have to ask - what is that event for? I also notice that Surrey is booked out for late night boardgaming daily, so I am wondering if it might be a session for "Werewolves of Miller's Hollow" (it's a card game of bluffing, deduction and role-playing). What's happening there?

Discussion / Will breakfast be served?
« on: March 21, 2014, 12:05:56 »
I checked the website for the Hilton Metropole and they have breakfast menus for the hotel, but I am not sure if there is a simpler option provided by the hotel for free like last year. I am just checking to make sure I shouldn't have to go out and grab breakfast from a local Greggs or something.

Discussion / Are Nerf weapons allowed?
« on: March 04, 2014, 20:08:57 »
A friend and I want to use Nerf weapons as part of our space suits as a substitute for ray guns. The unit in question is an Elite Firestrike - a simple air propelled unit which fires only one dart at a time and the barrel carries only one dart.

Are there any restrictions on having them in the convention or what kind of ammo they can use?

Events / SOS - Save our Stash
« on: March 02, 2014, 09:30:56 »
Before the convention started a spaceship with a very important cargo was invaded by aliens who have stolen the goods. In its last moments, before disappearing, it transmitted an encrypted message as to its location.

Attendees have to solve a number of puzzles to locate the precious cargo - each appearing as a QR code scattered about the convention. When scanned, it brings up a link to a riddle or say-what-you-see puzzle that will help you. When you solve the puzzle, it gives a letter - gather all the letters and the location of Brok's precious loot is revealed and you can share in it too.

This is just a little fun idea that I thought would be good fun as a game throughout the convention. The prize would be something small (knowing Brok, it might just be cookies).

Room & Transport Sharing / Apologies for Room Share Mix Up
« on: February 12, 2014, 21:26:21 »
If you haven't received a post about me wanting to room share, you don't need to worry about this.

Anyway, some of you may have had me post in your threads about room sharing, saying I was available. Well, I've done the clumsy mistake of posting, forgetting and then asking someone else and then having a few people asking if they still want to be room mates. I'd like to say sorry if you've been misled, I'm just scatter brained at the best of times. I have picked a room mate, but to keep the peace, I am offering places to all the people who were misled to be in my charity canvas in a corps of your choice (sadly, we're all out of blues and blacks)

Events / Big Furry Sci Fi Quiz
« on: February 08, 2014, 17:58:13 »
Since the theme this year for Confuzzled is the World of Tomorrow, I was thinking that a big quiz panel should be done where furries answer questions about science fiction. We'd arrange to have some teams put together (including fursuiters just to make it funnier), and have it like a panel show on one of the evenings.

You know, something that is a bit of fun, but also something we don't have to take seriously.

Discussion / Volunteering Query
« on: January 26, 2014, 09:39:09 »
I signed up to join the Confuzzled Medical team as a volunteer first aider, I have sent information about my qualifications to the team, but I'm still waiting a response on what's happening.

What happens now I've registered, paid and sent all the necessary information?
Do I get a special badge for the convention?
Will you need my contact details, such as my mobile number, before the con?
Will I need to bring hard copies of my certificates?

Just a few trivial issues.

Events / FURS NEEDED - Possibility of free art!
« on: January 24, 2014, 19:37:05 »
Anyway, I am coming with a big charity canvas for Confuzzled 2014, featuring a number of furries as members of the various lanterns corps from DC Comics Green Lantern series.

I need furries, who will be willing to have their fursonas as part of this charity canvas to become members of the nine lantern corps. Here are the corps and the emotional light they wield;

Red Lanterns - Rage
Orange Lanterns - Greed (male furs only)
Sinestro Corps (Yellow) - Fear
Green Lanterns - Willpower
Blue Lanterns - Hope
Indigo Tribe - Compassion
Star Sapphires (Violet) - Love (female furs only)
Black Lanterns - Death (undead or zombie furs only)
White Lanterns - Life (special requisite to be announced)

And there are a couple of rules as well (nothing too bad, just a little word of warning)

1. You DON'T have to attend Confuzzled to be drawn, but I am limiting these places.
2. If you're going to attend Confuzzled and want to be drawn, please try and place a bid on it.
3. Groups of friends highly preferable - if you're all going to Confuzzled, it makes it easier to bid.
4. No adult requests. If you want a Lantern picture, but also want it slightly adult, I'll do a clean version for the canvas, but you'll have to pay for the adult piece.
5. If you agree to have your character drawn, you agree to the profits from this canvas going to charity as well.

Hope you guys get in touch!
