Title: Looking for Good but not expensive fursuit maker
Post by: Feera Fox on May 14, 2012, 14:41:42
Dear Souls,
I would like to find a good but not expensive fusuit maker
for my vixen fursuit, I was going to commish one maker
but they are closed for now, what a crying shame, I will
not name them, as i respect them, so come on if you
can help or do my fursuit show me what work you've done
then I can decide who I can commssion. Not nessarly the
cheapest but a balanced decision, would be made on my part.
as to the choice of maker. (I have character Sheet)

Please bear in mind a duct tape dummy session will have to be
also arranged as I have nobody with the skill to do this myself
I will have to go to a located specified by the maker. to get this
done.

if you think you can help, feel free mail me.  :)

What sort of budget were you considering since you mention a 'cheap' fursuit builder.  Additionally, were you intending for a full body suit, or just a partial?

Kind regards,

and whilst being at it: define cheap? Rule#1: you get what you pay for. I know there are folks who'd knock one up for 300-400 squid. Which means: after a year (depending on intesity of use) you'll end up with a used fursuit kit...with rabies :-) Something reasonably looking and halfway durable for a fullsuit will start at around 1,sth euros. Try out the suitcalculator on clockwork's homepage ( http://www.clockworkcreature.com/calculator/) to get a feeling. If you're low on dough you'll need to consider diy anyway. And for a duct tape dummy: if you bring everything along there should be help available at the convention (but don't forget to mention you'd like to be cut out again after taping you up...)

Ragear

well, my fursuit is behind schedule...

but that calculator gives more or less an upper limit of the price range ... I once checked how much my suit would cost as a full ... came up to more than 4000 USD  :o ... CC is nice but a tad on th expensive side  ;D

Oh I don't know. The price it gave me, fit my own guesstimate spot on. Around 2000 €.

It's not bad for a rough guide, you can tweak things though with builders to put more on and take money off with a bit of artistic licence. It's really down to how much you want to spend as to how many 'extras' go into the quote.

Price for a good new fursuit is mostly around 2k-3k in dollars.

Second hand it can be between 400 - 2.5 k or so out of experience but is more on the lucky side as you never know what's on sale.
