Introduce Yourself / The Snep Returns
« on: December 08, 2014, 14:42:47 »
Hello everyone,
Decided to come back to CFz this year after having a year long break from the fandom. If you don't know me; I'm Jess/Lyra, I am an artist in the fandom, have been for the last 8 years or so, I do take commissions and will be in the dealers den again (I hope, waiting on confirmation), I now have a snow leopard fursuit, she came last year but didnt do much. I also organise SouthFur Camp every year. This will be my 5th CFz, last one I was at was the Medieval One.

For those who do know me, Hai!

I hope to dominate the music scene this year, will of course be singing at any chance I get and I want to dance till my feet fall off.
Now comes the time where I dash madly around trying to get all commissions done in time for the con.

Check out my art here

Oh yeh, Im also huge on the Brony scene and will be taking some prints with me to sell =3

Discussion / Conbook material
« on: August 14, 2013, 19:24:29 »
Right this may cause an uproar, but I would like to point out something about future conbook artwork. Could it be limited to artists either within the UK or at least the artists who ARE going to the con and/or selling wares? I just thought it was kinda unfair to have some big names in there from overseas not even comming to CF taking up room where an underdog local artist could be put. I know of several, including myself, UK based furry artists who worked their tails off to submit somthing for the conbook. I had about 5 pieces I sent forward and not one got in =( I was honestly quite disappointed, because I knew that it gets bigger and brighter every year and im aware its become a bit of a fight to get in it now, but maybe you could show some love for local artists?
I'd personally want less "oh its a blotch piece again" and more "oh hey a new artist, they do really nice artwork, i hope they're in the den"

Discussion / Drinks list
« on: June 16, 2013, 20:46:59 »
Hey guys, is it possible to get a copy/photo of the CF themed Drinks list they had in the bars?
SouthFur Camp is comming up and I would LOVE to know what was in some of them so we can attempt to make them. Frog in Boot was the one I'm mostly looking for, but any of them will do. =3

i always thought that it was done be height in past years.
I'm in the same boat about height/not being seen. I'm pretty tall for the girls, but there are a fair number of guys who are taller than me, much taller even, i think one of them was getting in the way at the photo, but i felt sorry for Roo, who was stood with me during it, hes a lot shorter than me.
The guys stood up at the front row were towering us this year =/

Feedback / Re: My only complaint about the dances...
« on: June 08, 2013, 23:25:18 »
Im one for dances but this years dance floor just didnt not grab me at all because it was hidden away. Im just looking foreward to the new one. I hope itll be bigger and  better than the one at the Brit
I can assure you it will be bigger and better.  The first year I helped out at the brittania was done on a string of favours and what I could fit in Ceil's van.  Since then the nightclub has gone from strength to strength, and has become a staple of the convention.  I don't think many other cons can boast a dedicated nightclub space with the spec we have! :D With the announcement of the new location, a lot of these gripes about size will go away, hopefully we can take all your comments on board to bring you a better, 100% more bangin' nightclub experience in 2014!

Psssst  >.> <,< more banners please >=D *runs away*

Feedback / Re: The food
« on: June 08, 2013, 09:44:36 »
The only thing i have to say about food is can we have that midnight snack/rolls thing again? Bacon and egg baps, hog roast/shredded pork baps, pizza slices etc.
The last night was a pain as it wasnt even a midnight snack...it closed at midnight! Im not even kidding when i say there was no food in the hotel! Me and Roo ran around the place looking for anything after midnight. I had not eaten as id been busy. I had pizza the night before so did not really want it again. Had nibbles at a room party and that was it.

Feedback / Re: Artists Alley

Can i be honest? Im an artist and I actually had no idea what the artists alley is. I didnt go have a look as i was told that its just where the big name artists sit around and talk. Thats probably not true but i kinda wish i knew more about it.

Feedback / Re: The Queues ¬_¬
« on: June 08, 2013, 09:34:01 »
I dont think all events should be sponsers only. Had a few friends who were queued up for the main stage at the front of the queue only to get pushed back more by sponsers first.
If you are going to do this could there be more notice for "early sponsers" for that event?

Feedback / Re: Headless Fursuiters...
« on: June 08, 2013, 09:31:21 »
Im one who has headless a lot due to
1. Waiting in queues is bloody hot
2. The bar ran out of straws and i was dying and needed that drink (water) NOW.
3. Due to certain people staying in the hotel this year i did not trust my suit being in the fursuit lounge, i changed in my room but as the zip is on the back and catches on the fur, i cant undo it, so ive had to find someone on the 1st floor to unzip me. Shouldnt have a problem with leaving Lyra in the lounge next year.
4. Its my first lenhthy time fursuiting properly and i am not used to the heat yet. Like after the parade. I took my head off in the hotel as i was heading back to my room.

So none of my beheading is deliberate. Im a first time fursuiter.
