Sadly the app doesn't run on the HTC Dream (aka T-Mobile G1) with the Netmite J2ME Runner installed. Throws up a "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Conference.load() caught java.lang.NullPointerException at line 0" when trying to launch it, though that could be a failed conversion.
Shame about that - looks like it had some trouble extracting the text file that describes all the events. Something to look at after CF I think, and with a version without the debug line numbers stripped out.

found that the second edition kills nokia s60 v3 app server which then lags phone even while app no longer running also stops it from uninstalling as running in background lucky reinstalling then uninstalling without running will get rid of app. error was something to do with loopback proccess this was on samsung g810 symbian s60 v3 ???
I'm not quite sure what you are saying here - what do you mean by the "second edition"? Do you mean the v1.5 update of the original application or the Sony Ericsson version?  And what do you mean by the Nokia app server?

The Samsung G810 will need to use the "Sony Ericsson" version as there are bugs in the Symbian S60 Java implementation.  This might be what is causing the device to hang.  Its also possible for an application to be suspended (in memory, but not running) in some cases (an incoming call is the obvious one) in which case you can return to it and it carries on running.

I've no idea what "loopback process" is about - that's no part of the application.

I have a Sony Ericsson w200i and tried it out on that. Everything works, except the Day's events screens. I don't know if it's my phone or not, but it looks something like this.
That's been a common experience with Sony Ericsson phones.

We now have a Sony Ericsson version that should eliminate most of the problems at the expense of have icons next to the events.

When it was back up I checked the app and had to change the hour to 0 to match the phone, but after 11 hours it's 2 mins ahead again. My guess is that whatever it's comparing it's time to is not the part of the clock the user sets [that doesn't run fast or slow] but rather some other part entirely that keeps running fast so that the longer the phone is left turned on, the further ahead it will get.

Or at least that's my best guess.... I mean, it was minutes ahead but hours behind before the crash *shrugs*
An offset of zero is normal for a UK phone (that's not running Windows Mobile).

I'm fairly certain that this behaviour is something to do with your phone (or rather your model of phone).  The app we supply doesn't keep track of the current time.  Periodically it asks "What's the time Mr. Phone?", adds the time zone offset (constant) and displays it on the screen.  Once the con starts it also updates the now and next event list.  But it isn't storing or incrementing the time anywhere.

You may find the phone model printed on a label under the battery along with a bunch of other gobbledygook like the phones IMEI and such.

Managed to get it installed on my phone, though not sure if it's working right.

1) When you say faved events will show on the main page does that just refer to them gaining a heart icon on the event listing page for that day or something else? That's all I get.
They only appear on the appropriate day of the con - you won't see them yet (unless you bodge your phone's date).  Have a look at the user guide.

2) I don't see all the text about an event name on the listing as it goes off the screen with no scroll option [but it's fine on the details page.]
The event gets truncated to fit the width of your phone's display and whatever font it's using.  It's doing it's best to show as much as it can on one line.  And no, it doesn't scroll sideways.

3) The current time is acting strange, I had to set it to -5 hours to get it to match the time on my phone and even then it's wrong as for some reason it's running 7 minutes faster than my phone is.
===edit==
Ok... now it's 10 mins faster...
That I can't explain.  The app always asks the phone for the current time, and doesn't keep track of it itself.

Hiya, congrats on getting a place, and thanks for being a sponsor!  The board is a little quiet at the moment, but most of the staff are rushing around planning good stuff for ConFuzzled 2009.  I'm sure you'll have a great time!

1..where does the victorian dress theme stretch to, fursuit dress? human dress? or both?
2..victorians were smaller that modern folks, so how does one get authectic stuff in a 48" chest?

Furry conventions typically have a theme that changes from year to year.  You are not obliged to do anything, but if you want to you can.  You might have a costume or prop for fursuit, or have a Victorian costume for day wear. If you are an artist then you might want to display, sell, or auction pieces in keeping with the theme.  Or you might write or perform something.  The theme is deliberately chosen to be fairly open ended so there are lots of options.

Obviously, I hope, we aren't asking you to turn up in a museum piece garment made in the 19th century for Victorians to wear.  So the question of size isn't an issue.  If you want to dress up you can make it yourself or hire (fancy dress or stage costume stores).

It really should be in the body of the text too.  At the moment those dates are part of a background image, and there's no alt to make the information accessible.

25
You may have to refresh the page or clear your browser cache to see the new theme and dates (22nd to 25th May).

You need to know where your towel is.  If you are a fursuiter, you need to know where your towels are.  Most importantly, your towel will not be provided  by the YHA in Manchester (it's a four star hostel, not hotel).  Similarly, the hostel won't be providing flannels.  Probably no shampoo, shower gel, little tubes of toothpaste, diddy bars of soap, slippers, shoe shine kits, shower caps, or executive bath robes either.

You do get a duvet, a pillow, and blankets (should you need them).  There's no turn down service, no delicate minty choccy on your pillow when you retire for the night.  In fact, your bed will look exactly the same as the way you left it.  Do not leave your shoes outside your bedroom door expecting them to be cleaned when you get up.  There are no early morning alarm calls, or even early afternoon ones, and no all day breakfast!

Off-Topic Furry Discussion / Re: Show us your conbadges
« on: June 18, 2008, 08:14:25 »
Um i was under the inclination that we are given our ID
at the con with a con badge included? It just confuses me
that so many people have them ready to wear.

You will be given your official ID for the con at registration, with your name and icon on it, that gets you into the convention.  However, for some furs one badge with their name and character on it is not enough.  They commission con badges from artists and wear those as well.  Over the years some collect so many it looks like they're wearing some kind of laminator-mail armour.

2008 Discussion / Re: Two weeks!

Registration opens at half three eh? We should be there a little before that if that's ok?

Good question - I assume so, though I wonder at what point you will be able to get into your rooms?  I'm sure Furble will be along shortly with the answer.  Looking forward to meeting you both.

2008 Discussion / [2008] Two weeks!
« on: June 06, 2008, 08:47:43 »
In two weeks time I'll be waking up in the YHA, having driven up the night before.  Staff members will be starting work on turning the venue into ConFuzzled, and getting ready to open registration at 3:30pm.  As the regular guests check out furries will be arriving, so what time do you plan to be there?

Off-Topic Furry Discussion / Re: Anyone here use Second Life?
« on: June 06, 2008, 08:00:13 »
I'm on there very occasionally these days (and certainly not for the next two weeks! - too busy) as Dingotush Sachertorte.  I'm also supposed to use it for work - and have a non-fur account for that.
