For those asking for more details, we'll be beaming Eurovision live onto a projector in the Library Bar.  Eurovision is due to start broadcasting around 8pm.

Hi there,

To elaborate on Nido's comments.

ConFuzzled 2015 will not have a dedicated room for those playing video games during the entire convention this year.

We have a limited supply of rooms available, and a limited supply of staff able to setup and look after these rooms. Without someone from staff involved and no fixed inventory, we don't have any particular coverage from any insurance of our event, so if all your donated equipment goes missing or has beer poured over it, we aren't able to do anything to help.

Because of the lack of rooms, risk to donated equipment and the lack of staff, we chose instead to provide more video game competitions and structured events this year, which we find are more popular and easy to look after.

If you want to get involved with ConFuzzled, as well as the formal staff and crew recruitment through the year, we look for volunteers from the attendees to offer some hours at the convention to help us manage the chaos that is ConFuzzled. If you want to get involved, please talk to Convention Operations at the con.

Thanks,
Delph

Have no fear, that's already under control.

Hi there,

At the moment we've got another gameshow returning this year, so I think we'll give unifursity challenge a miss this year - though it's good to know that people do like the gameshows.

Cheers,

Hi there,

As each year is different, we can't really at this point say what will and won't be running and when.

A lot of the timing is based on when we can setup and organise events.

I wouldn't worry too much though - there's always plenty on during the rest of the days.

Cheers,
Delph

Hi There,

We've got enough laptops and networking for a cluster of 5 stations, but if you want to bring along another laptop we can always find spots for a few more people.

Don't forget there's a chance for people to show off their KSP creations as well - so bring those along on your laptops too.

Thanks,
Delph

Your guess is correct, indeed.

Hi there,

Sorry it took a while to get back to you. Could you drop an email to events@confuzzled.org.uk and I'll pass on the the offer to Pan, who's looking after the video game room.

Cheers,
Delph

Have you tried recording things for youtube (or somewhere else) before? I find that's a good way to get used to performing and you can get a bit of feedback too

Didnt realise there was a new thread for this.

YES I would like to enter.
I play acoustic guitar - quite uniquely is the best way I can put it (studied jazz and classical before that but ended up in a punk band and now do mostly experimental stuff).
I've never done a solo performance, nor have I ever attended a con before so this will be a scary experience and I will require much alcohol!
As for what I want to play, options are still open but song candidates include:
 - One of my own songs if I can finish it
 - Big Love (Fleetwood Mac) crazy acoustic version
 - Bad (U2)
 - Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin) - but only if I have access to helium like maybe a glamorous assistant with a baloon ready (yes I'm dead serious)
 - One or more of the bard songs from Skyrim, or possibly a medley

And yes a rehearsal will definitely be a good thing!

See, now I'm wondering how to transport the equipment for Total Wipeout into the stage area, as I'd really love to see the slow motion replay of a 'suiter slipping on a massive bouncy ball and sliding slowly, gracefully into the water, to surface looking more like a drowned rat than a proud member of the feline race.

Sadly, I'm not sure if the hotel will let me turn the main stage into a pool and water park.

Thanks for the idea though, and we'll keep it around to see if it fits into one of the other events.

Events / Re: Costume Contest Idea
« on: September 02, 2013, 22:13:50 »
Hi there!

This sounds like a good idea - like some of the masquerade events at other conventions. We've been thinking this year about maybe having some sort of performance/costuming/skit event, but we're not sure how popular it might be - it would feel a bit strange to have just two or three people on stage.

So here's an open question to everyone -  Would you take part? If so, what would you perform?

If there's enough interest we can look at actually making this happen.

If you can take that thought and put it on the feedback on the events pages here: http://events.confuzzled.org.uk/2013/events/455.en.html (and any other feedback you have) then it will help us remember which events we should endeavour to run again next year.

To be honest I'd love to see a panel on current best practice, and also one on the "history of fursuiting"

I know we've got a heavyweight carved foam fursuit head in the loft which we can compare against the lightweight mask heads we use these days, and I'm sure that feet have improved over the years as well.

Hi all,

Unfortunately, we're now at the position where we can't change the schedule any more and still be able to publish the conbook in time.

I think we're also covering some of these things with the "your first convention" formal event, the informal bar meet afterwards, and the fursuiting 101 event.

I'm going to pass on the suggestion to the team organising the fursuit stage events though, as it might be a possible idea for a challenge at the fursuit fiasco. Again, however, I think they're advanced in the planning and might have started to build the challenges already.

These are all good ideas! Keep them safe and suggest them again at the start of next year :)

Thanks,
Delph
