Feedback / Party Suites - ConFuzzled 2015
« on: July 03, 2014, 20:54:34 »
Hi Everyone,

as always, planning is well underway for ConFuzzled 2015 already, and this year there may well be the opportunity to reintroduce the Party Suites, that were so well loved and adopted at previous ConFuzzled's.  However, before considering contracting these in, I would like to just gather a little feedback from people to ascertain if it would be a good option to consider.

If you would seriously be interested in a Party Suite, have had a one in the past, or would consider having one, please can you take a moment of your time to complete the following survey:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1UG7QMPcKnulbctd-99jPVo5TRRWsNpgFD-w2-QAfHog/viewform

Thank you very much for your time!

Kind Regards,

Events / Fursuit Fiasco - Game Ideas
« on: January 05, 2012, 09:57:18 »
Hello everyone,

As some of you know, year on year, we have run a very successful fursuit games style event. For the last 2 years, we have run an elimination based style event that was limited to only 16 participants. Last year, due to demand being so high, we introduced another games event called Fursuit Fiasco. Unfortunately, due to such high volume of interest, this year, we are dropping the Furrylimpics and the main event will become the Fursuit Fiasco. The reason being is that this allows us to cater for larger number of people wishing to take part, and makes it a bit less formal, whilst at the same time offering the same level of entertainment value. We aren't saying goodbye to the Furrylimpics forever, we have ideas that we will adopt for future events but we are unable to implement them this year.

On this note, I would like to open the floor up to you all for ideas for games that we can do for the Fursuit Fiasco. The style of game should be as least complicated as possible, and can cater for 2 large teams, or multiple players. Good examples include, but are not limited to;

• Relay races
• musical chairs
• British Bulldog

If you have any ideas you would like to suggest at this time, I will gladly take them onboard for consideration. As always though, just because an idea is suggested, it is not a guarantee we will use it, so please do not be disappointed if you suggest an idea and we do not use it this year. We stock pile ideas for future events, so all ideas are welcomed!

Many thanks in advance,

Rizzorat

Feedback / Food suggestions
« on: October 19, 2011, 23:12:18 »
Hello everyone,

I am looking for your suggestions for an up and coming meeting I have with the hotel regarding catering provisions for ConFuzzled 2012.  The restaurant and menu at the Barceló are more in keeping with a corporate fine dining experience, and not ideal for a convention of furs, whom in particular are looking for quick, easy to grab style foods.

As with the Britannia last year, the Barceló have offered a degree of flexibility regarding what they will offer for us.  Therefore, I would like to take to them ideas of what people in particular would like to see.  This is in no way a guarantee that it will be available, but my hope is that with enough ideas, the hotel will happily put on meals more in keeping with our attendees tastes and interests.

Therefore, this thread will be open for 1 week, closing midnight Wednesday 26th October.  If you have an idea, please shout it out and let your voice be heard.

Please keep ideas sensible, and to food suggestions only, not drinks.

Example:

Pizza,
Burgers,
Chips,

Many thanks for your input.

Kind Regards,

Rizzorat

Announcements (CF2008-CF2011) / Final Menu and Prices
« on: March 23, 2011, 17:32:48 »
Hello everyone,

As promised, I am pleased to announce this year’s finalised menu.  We have tried to be as thoughtful as possible with what is on offer but as always, I am sure that there will be people out there that will not content with the menu. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to cater for everyone’s individual tastes.  Therefore, if you do have any over resounding objections, please be sure to attend the feedback session on Monday morning at the convention.  All genuine feedback will be taken away and processed so that the following year, we can hope to offer an even better service.

One thing to note at this early stage is that for the Pizza Buffet and for the Main Dinner Meals, you will need to purchase your meal coupons from reception.  These will be available from Friday through till Sunday, from 9am.  We have requested for the cash desk in the restaurant to be removed this year so as to avoid queues.  This should hopefully assist in staggering meal times for people and also, it means if you so wish, you can buy all your meal coupons in one go for the entire weekend.

The option for main dinner meals is Cafeteria style.  If you attended ConFuzzled in previous years when it was at the YHA, this is similar, albeit the meals are available for a much longer time window.  A selection of main meals is available on the hot plate.  You can then select what meal you want, which will include a selection of potatoes or vegetables include also a dessert - and eat! It is a very simple process.  Having run a recent poll, we opted against the idea of a carvery based system as this was not hugely popular last year, and the price quoted this year was more than anticipated.

Many thanks,

Rizzo

Announcements (CF2008-CF2011) / Hotel Occupancy - Booking directly
« on: March 21, 2011, 17:27:30 »
Hi Everyone,

this is a rather important announcement concerning having full occupancy on the entire hotel.  Whilst we never want to react to whispers on the wind, it has been brought to our attention that some people may have opted to book a hotel room directly with the Country House Hotel for the Friday/Saturday/Sunday.  Whilst we have checked our registration system and it appears that all those registered are local to the area, this still might be the case.

If this is indeed true, whilst it being a bit sad to think people are trying to find loop holes in our process, I have to make everyone aware at this time that if you have booked directly with the hotel, since we have secured the entire takeover of the venue, anyone in their booking system not in ours, is going to be moved to another hotel which is down the road.  This has been confirmed both in person and in writing from the hotel.

Therefore, if this does apply to you, I strongly urge you to re-evaluate your registration before it closes at the end of the month. You now have only 10 days left, and rooms are selling out very quickly.  If you turn up on the day and are moved to another hotel, you will not come under our responsibility but the hotels and we will have no interjection with their process.

Hopefully these are all false rumours and no one is going to be impacted.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at ConFuzzled 2011, and a near full capacity crowd at the Britannia Country House Hotel!

Kind Regards,

Rizzorat

Hi everyone,

it seems that I am presented with an impossible situation.  After a discussion with the chairman, neither of us can decide one way or the other on a particular menu choice.  Since this is YOUR convention, and YOU will be attending, I thought we will simply put the choice out there for you to offer feedback on.

Before you respond, please be advised any announcements about general food stuffs available on the menu will be made once all decisions are finalised.  All we are looking for in this thread is your opinion about price.  Please do not offer suggestsions on meals, as the options were set in place already.

so...

If you were given the choice of a main meal with a choice of desserts for £8.95 (think pub style foods) or an all you can eat buffet style meal for £10.50 (also pub style food), which one would be more appealing to you and why?

Thanks!
