I don't think this debate will ever end but if it was a case of 'social deheadding'' then that does need to be pointed out and stopped before it becomes a new ''thing''.

How do you stop someone who wants to take their head off to talk to that person they aint seen for a year?

I don't dispute that. but surly no suit or head takes 12 hours to dry on a drier of that power?

During the Fursuit Fiasco, I was glancing towards the refreshments and I saw Fursuiters taking their heads off.
There should be an area of the Room that should feature large Boards that are up to 6'6 in height - that way the fursuiters can take their heads off in private and have refreshments!

Perhaps that's something worth considering. i assume it didn't come into the budget this year. As for taking our heads off during downtime in the fursuit Fiasco (i did) Its safe to say, after jumping around attempting to get on those chairs, or avoiding the little yellow balls of death, one was quite hot sweaty and in need of some headless air for thirty seconds, so its a wee different from the taking off in full public for a chat (not that I'm opposed to that either)

As long as it accommodates the Finger dance!

Feedback / Re: Hinckley Island Hotel Appreciation

The staff at the Hinckley Isle were fantastic, beyond what i had expected. I'm sad to move onto a Hilton, but the needs of the con must. I had read somewhere that a few of them may pop up at CFz2014 to say hello, if that's' so it would be fantastic! They were so accommodating, putting up with the absolutely random toss from us (which included giving a bird sugar cubes for his shiny teapot!)

I pay money to go to confuzzled.

We all pay money to go to Confuzzled. I think Sparx summed up perfectly why its not really viable to enforce a heads on rule at the next convention.

Feedback / Suit Head Driers
« on: June 03, 2013, 21:07:18 »
So this is a minor gripe of mine, but noticed that a lot of heads were being left on driers for hours in the fursuit lounges. And I mean 6+ hours, without the suit owner returning to remove the head. I know the staff have the right to move heads, but it never seemed to happen. I wouldn’t want to move anyone's head just in case something happened, meaning that my own head (and other people's) ended up on top of the fans used for cooling off full suites, which risked the heads accidental damage and deprived the full suites those fans to use. I know this is really quite a difficult thing to look around on, but it was really the only gripe I had the entire weekend. I also noticed bits of fur suits being left in inconvenient positions on the floor, and again didn’t feel it was my place, or right for me to move them.

Other then that, everything else was absolutely fantastic and I hope to return next year!

Magic V health. It was my first time suiting at this convention and i could easily understand why people would take their heads off (i more or less kept mine on)

Discussion / Re: Is this weapon acceptable?
« on: April 28, 2013, 20:44:22 »
Ah i see. If i was honest, i would probably prefer it to be bound in its sheath by string (so it can be untied if required, but not drawn otherwise) as occasionally i can get a little carried away and would rather not. I must also ask about a shield i will carry, which is around three feet tall by two wide, kite design also made out of wood. Would i be required to create a method of sheathing that as well (to my back i would think) or would that be alright to be held in an offhand. I'm just making sure i cover the bases before i arrive, because my costume does revolve around having these two objects on my person. If so, i need to fix up a method of doing it! (some kind of strap, belt or such with a coat hanger hook would do it methinks)

Thank you for your swift response too. I want to make sure i cover everything (mostly) before i arrive, just because i do not want to be caught out. Also, just out of interest, where are the Conops offices going to be? i have not been to a convention before, nor this hotel.

Cheers

Discussion / Is this weapon acceptable?
« on: April 27, 2013, 23:53:19 »
Hello their, just a quick question about the weapon rules this year as its a little bit... unclear to me.  I'm a little uncertain as to what would be considered an acceptable cold weapon. See I have this wooden sword I have spray painted silver to make it look a little more in fitting with the theme, but am now a tad concerned that it looks perhaps a bit too proper if you will, to be used in general con wear. Not being able to wear it would mostly ruin my costume as i'm going for that knight's look. I am also interested in what the rules in relation to peace bound, I would assume that means to stay sheathed at all times?  Does this also apply to wooden large shields?  Again I only ask because if so, I need to figure out how to strap a shield to my back nice and quick, heh.

A link to my twitter of the sword in question, and moreso if it would be accepted. If not, I need to pick up another one quickly. I am having a minor issue right now, so cannot really do anything with my keyboard, which is very annoying.

Cheers muchly.

i would be *highly* surprised if Hinkly Isle didn't have a deal with a local taxi company. I'm sure they can run you a taxi at prettymuch anytime (best check mind)

I'm part of the C&B team in label, but in job I'm a Porter. So I'm the chap that comes to your room at two in the morning to ask you to quieten down, hence i know how very VERY frustrating such things can be first hand. (i also carry luggage, clean, look after conferences do basic maintenance showarounds and other things :P Sort of a jack of all trades)

That would be a safe way to put it. Other guests in the hotel at that point, respect for others is one of those required things.
