Feedback / Re: Fursuit Lounge
« on: June 10, 2013, 21:01:45 »
Can I please put in a vote *NOT* to have a guard on the front door, especially if they're checking badges?

On a few occasions (mainly photoshoots) I went out in suit without my fursuit badges (but I did have my attendee badge -- under my bandana out of view). If you're going to have security checking fursuit badges, you're going down the path of making the fursuit badges compulsory... I prefer them to be a cute little optional extra.

If you put the text "Fursuiter" on the attendee badge, that's fair enough, but there'd be nothing stopping someone from ticking that box in registration and getting one of those badges -- unless you requested photos of the suit, which they may not have (the suit might be under construction, for pickup at CFZ, being repaired...)

Add handlers/assistants into the mix and things get really hairy... :-/

On the subject of photos - I'm aware of one which was taken in the main Fursuit Lounge showing a fully-suited fursuiter hugging (?) one of the fans. This I have no problem with, they were the only people in the room at the time as far as I can tell and it appears to be a staged shot. The photographers I saw around the 'con this year have been very respectful and professional.

Feedback / Re: Suit Head Driers

I found my head upside down on the floor of the large fursuit lounge, and now one of the ears is broken and will need to be repaired

I did notice a few people were being a little less than friendly with others' suits. I put a couple of friends' suits back on the drier properly after they were left hanging by the elastic or neck ruff. I suspect a few folks were rushing around trying to get their heads off the drier and knocking others' stuff around. A bit disappointing but what can you do?  :(

Feedback / Public list of fursuit badges
« on: June 05, 2013, 16:04:24 »
I'll put my photographer hat on for this one  ;D

For the past couple of years, Eurofurence have provided a public list of the fursuit badges which they issued, along with the image the fursuiter provided (photo or whatever) -- http://fursuit.eurofurence.org/past/
I've been using that to sort through CFZ photos and figure out which fursuiters I'd seen, met up with or caught on camera (a few attend both CFZ and EF) but there are still a few who only attend CFZ.

Is there any possibility of ConFuzzled doing something similar?

If it's a question of making the data available in an accessible form (i.e. "put a pretty front end on the data"), I'd be happy to help out with that.

You can turn up in suit of course.
This will allow us also to let you show how you perform in suit.

The camera would be perfect. Maybe if it can also be put on youtube in great quality that would be a great help  :D

If you can get me the video file at CFZ (I'll have a memory card reader and assortment of USB cables with me), I should be able to get it online (or at least uploading) within a couple of hours if it's standard-def. Assuming I can get a decent 3G signal :)

If it needs recoding, all bets are off - all I'll be bringing is El Cheapo Netbook.

Question for SFW / Sparky re. the Fursuit 101 panel --

I'm probably going to the bar meet, though it's a close decision.

Would there be any possibility of getting the Fursuiting 101 panel recorded (and hopefully shared with attendees) for the benefit of those who can't be in two places at once?  ;D
