I'm shamanic so I believe I am therian. *grin*
Something to think about is whether the animal-part is something internal to yourself (in general therians), or something external (in general totemic beliefs).

How did all you guys get round MC's requirement on having a duct-tape dummy for full suits? Everyone I know finds them a bitch to make, and then there's getting them sent over to the US in the first place without damage. :P
DTD's are easy to make really, so long as the person using the tape knows how to do it. :)
I've been DTD'd and helped do several others.  They really are easy to do, and there are ways to make it more comfortable for the "model".  Once done they are pretty easy to ship and store providing you haven't stuffed them.  Perhaps is something to demo (not the whole process) at Confuzzled?

Curious question. I know many furs from varying sites are on this already, as is the convention, but how many here have a little article devoted to them? Or are voluntarily excluded? *wags tail* Forgive a wolfie's curiosity.
I've got one: http://furry.wikia.com/wiki/David_Cooke.  Although I didn't create it, most of the detail is stuff I've added or corrected.

You can make your own just by editing the Wiki.  Go to Wikipedia proper first and look up the Wikipedia Cheetsheet, that will show you the codes for the various styles.  Its not much harder than these boards.  Then go back to Wikifur, and edit away.  If you don't want to write your own page, then you can edit something else, and maybe someone will return the favour.  Don't be put off by the recent-change folks, they are just there to keep the thing in some kind of order.

A specialist area of mine in any case, what topics are going to be covered in the seminar? I had ideas it might centre on therianthropy and shamanism, but I thought I'd ask anyways.  :P *ish a curious wolfie*
Spirituality is a huge, huge, subject, and is typically best covered by allowing different folks to explain how their own spirituality works, usually starting with those leading the session, but then extending to everyone who wants to participate.  I'd expect there to be quite a few different takes on therianthropy alone.  There are quite a few shamanic viewpoints too, and there are also furs who integrate christianity into their furry belief systems (or is that the other way around?).  The key to these things is to recognise that there's no right or wrong way, and certainly no unified church of furry ;>

Blimey! I cannot believe it's not Dave!
DAAAAVE! :P
Indeed it is - I'm hoping to increase my Mancunian fan-base with more rides on the free bus!  Maybe in suit, but then how will they know it's Dave?

Introduce Yourself / Re: merry meet from a shaman cheetahfur :)

Hi!

I am wondering if there are any fursuit meets or things like that here!

I don't know of any fursuiting specific meets, but as Graafen says, it tends to happen at other meets.  Also once you get to know other fursuiters you'll find there's often something fun going on somewhere.  You might want to check out the Spiritfurs LJ community - suiting, facepainting, and masks are good ways to get closer to your inner animal.

Ohhh, Jenna is soo cute.  I'm a sucker for the whole hair-over-one-eye thing.
Isn't she so adorable? :) Did you see her in her red dress at FC?

Aww, I must have missed that.

Introduce Yourself / Really wolfy, a little bit husky
« on: May 17, 2007, 14:57:30 »
Hiyas,

David Cooke signing in, wolfy fur/therian going a bit grey around the muzzle, part time husky fursuiter (Kibble), and known online in various places as Dingotush (a reference to Jeff Noon's quazi-furry novels, set in Manchester, home of Confuzzled), though not in fact a dingo.  Denizen of Milton Keynes, responds to Dave, David, Oi!, Dingo, ...  Want to know more?

Also a Confuzzled staff member on the events team, helping to plan and ensure they run smoothly.

So, who's bringing a fursuit to ConFuzz? And if so which one(s)? :)

I'll be brining Radinov, my female husky and probably my werewolf if I can transport them both. :D

Kibble will be there for sure, and maybe one other.  I'll be working on a wolfy suit again soon.
