...depending on what you want to do ...

if I knew that ... if I knew that ........  ???

Well ..  anyway have to wait who will show up. I dont know very many people in the community so it would be difficult to invite.

Maybe there could be an announcement for such a photoshoot with place (and time) to be announced at the Con (by a note on the board or so). That would leave the opportunity to look for a spot (probably in the public area) which has enough light or even to go out if the weather is good enough.

that actually makes looking for a roomie a lot easier as you dont have to look to close on the attending times ...

I still hope a friend will join me and stay also all the time ... lets see

If you dont really want it down as a official event another option would be to ask our events team if you could have a little bit of public space given over to you for a few hours one day. Allowing people to filter through and do it as and when they like. Makes it a little less formal if that helps.

Theres plenty of options for you really just depends how much or little you want to make of it.

Hmmm, I dont really know how much i want to do ... that depends a lot on the fact if there would be interest in such a thing. I have never been to a con so I can't estimate how the suiters would react...

If there are some people telling me "good idea, I would come there" I would be willing to make it more official. I would need a place where there is some good natural light ... maybe it could just be announced that there will be the possibilities of such old-school photo in the rotunda (or any other place you see fit - I don't know the location) in a certain timeslot...

What would you think?

While this is true, you'll find it still happens. Now I don't say it does or doesn't happen on ConFuzzled, but seeing the possibility it might happen protecting the art is a sane idea.

Then I will maybe try to find some cover ... I just think that these sleeves offered for protection disturb the view quite a bit ...

Once you've arrived on the con and got registered you can check at Con-Ops to see if help is wanted and where. :)

I have also ticked the box "volunteering" during the online registration. Let's see what happens.

I am also staying with someone who has Photosensitive epilepsy so i was wondering if there will be any strobe lighting in the dance/other areas?. (i hope not as i dont wanna call 999 during the con)

How is it with flash when taking photos? Does that have an effect?

I think there will be a lot of people taking photos and depending on the light conditions many will use flash (some cameras even activate the flash automatically without the user knowing about it).

I will maybe try to focus the work on setting up stuff the day before and helping with the tear down. The I still have my photo project ... and the rest is "just for fun" :-)

Yey for volunteering too, it's a good way to meet people at the convention.

That is one of the reasons why I did it ... I am still quite new in the scene and would like to meet some people ... and that seemed a good possibility to do so and maybe give a good impression :-)

Auction is no problem ... I would prefer if some pieces are sold ...

The rules are OK, my work will fit in there, no problem ...

What would you suggest to be used as a covering. So far I have no idea how to do that. If I bring my stuff just in passepeartouts the images will be open. But the art show is an exhibition, isn't it? Normally people should not touch objects in an exhibition anyhow (which is of course different for the dealers den).

One more question: If I bring my images to you when the show is being set up ... I just give you the information about my minimum price and the percentage that should go for charity, right? Or do I have to bring kind of "pricetags"?

Anyway ... I will be at the Con starting from thursday and I also opted for volunteering ... so if you maybe need help to set up the show I can maybe even help a bit ...

I am not used to procedures as this is my first Con so please excuse if these questions are maybe already answered somewhere...

I would like to bring some stuff next year to put it into the art show (and possibly auction).

- Are there limitations which kind of artwork you accept - I would like to bring some of my photographical work (as fine art prints) - would that be OK? I do not want to spend all the money and carry that stuff around to be send away at the site ....

- Do you have rules how the work has to be presented? On other Con webpages I have seen that some accept only framed art. But for me - as I am coming by plane - it would be difficult to transport frames with glas - so I would prefer to bring the images just in passepartouts with some backing. These are easier and safer for transport but still stabilize the print enough to be hanged on a wall.

Thanks

Thanks. That is good news. I dont know yet with hom I will share a room. And it would be quite inconvenient if I would have to move around at some time.

@SFW: As you said in my introduction thread, there is an official photoshoot. I do not want to set up any competition or rivalry to that event. So I try to do something different. I will anyway just walk around with my stuff and ask some suiter if they want to participate.

I think it would not be worth to be announced as an official event (please tell me if you think different) but I still want to know the organizers what I am doing there ...

Well, what happens if I want to / will share a room who is not on the con for the same days?

for example: I stay thursday until tuesday ... the other one only friday until tuesday
What would then happen at the first night?
