On the first day I got lost on my way to the Westminster and ended up in The Boulevard (I think) which was an all you can eat restaurant £28 for 3 course meal with no Confuzzled discount. So I accidentally ended up having a very nice stir fry cooked in front of me (had a nice chat about the con with him too) but even after requesting only to pay for a single course (didn't feel like anything else), it still cost me £20!

That was a costly mistake I didn't make again! Wasn't the fault of the con or the hotel, I just didn't read the sign and assumed it was the correct restaurant as there were some other furs there (potentially making the same mistake I did).

I never did make it to the Westminster (other than for breakfast) but I hear the food was good value. I ended up eating at The Lounge most days as that's where everyone else seemed to hang out.

Here's my general feedback from the con cross posted from UKFur:

Positives:
* Layout of the new hotel was great for mingling and bumping into people
* Food was delicious from The Lounge (never did get to use the Westminster food however)
* The nightclub looked spectacular with the lighting and lasers
* I may be a bit biased from being on the fursuit crew, but the fursuit lounge may well be the best of any con thanks to CeilFox's fantastic inventions in the form of the fursuit driers of doom and that brilliant big black fan. This was backed up from comments from other attendees, some who run conventions (including Further Confusion) themselves!
* The PawPet show was superb with the addition of all the video segments. I especially liked the intro video, hope to see it up on YouTube soon!
* Helping out for the first time at any con this year, was great fun being part of the team and looking after the fursuiters. Hopefully will be more involved next year
 
Negatives:
* Service in The Lounge was poor at times, sometimes it being a real challenge just to place an order and then once the order had been placed, it took significant time for the order to arrive. I think this got worse later into the evening. Hopefully they'll be better prepared next year!
* Additionally, they quite often forgot to apply the 20% discount on the bills. I had to send the bill back on 4-5 separate times to have the discount applied.
* The hotel ran out of Rekorderlig far too quickly, they certainly need a larger stock next year
* Shame the art auction overran meaning the banner brawl had to be cancelled, but the use of the canvasses was great letting people leave their own little mark
* Not enough time to see everyone I wanted to hang out with (though the con was long enough!)

Despite Malamutt's insistence, I'm pretty sure I'll be impossible to see in the photo as I was at the back and behind some rather tall suiters. By the time I tried moving to a better location, turned out all the photos had been taken. Would have been nice for more snaps to be taken so we can select the best ones.

I've a top tip for anyone who needs help into or out of suit as I do; make proper use of the fursuit lounge. I've not really done this before despite being a relative con veteran however what I did at Confuzzled was put on my undersuit in my room and then put regular clothes on top. Then head down to the fursuit lounge, get into suit and ask someone who's there (there's always someone there) to help zip you up and then go suiting. When it comes to a time when you want to pop your head off for air or water, head back to the fursuit lounge (you should know your own physical limits to not end up in a situation where you're about to pass out and have to remove the head as the lounge was never a huge walk away). If you then want to get out of suit, go back to the fursuit lounge, get some help unzipping, stick the suit on the epic drier of doom and put your regular clothes back on top of your now moist undersuit. Then get back to your room to remove the undersuit and shower

It is this amount of effort that people go to, to stay in character that makes me upset to see (I can't be bothered) suiters.

That is my heart felt feeling.

The thing is, it doesn't feel like effort to me, it just feels like the logical thing to do! If I'm de-suiting in my room, I won't take the head off until I'm back at my room

Can I just say thanks to Ceil and the fursuit lounge team for the insanely awesome head and suit drier. I am pretty certain that is the most bonkers and comprehensive suit drier ever at a convention. I was very impressed!

But yes, despite the huge drier, it did seem that people used the driers to store their suits for hours on end rather than leaving it there to dry and then moving it off for other people. I realise that it's not often possible to nip in to the fursuit lounge due to being away in an event or whatever but regardless it did seem that a lot of people were not considering others and selfishly using the drier to store their suits until they needed to wear them again. This happens at every con tho so not sure how it can be tackled.

Other than the breakfast, I used the buffet twice. The first time, they had barely any food out so had to go round a second time once there was more food put out, but it was at least fairly decent food. The second time however was when it was the indian themed buffet and I thought it was truly awful. Mostly due to the undercooked crunchy rice I had to eat. Really put me off that meal

On the plus side, the BBQ was a great improvement on last year's. There was a decent selection of food and barely any queues so I was easily able to get my money's worth   Hope to see the BBQ make a return at the Hilton

Incidentally, I didn't get the Residential+ because I wasn't fussed by the theme and figured the t-shirt wouldn't be that interesting to me. However, I ended up buying both the convention glass and t-shirt. The design of the t-shirt is notable in it's subtlety; I've attended many conventions and see many con shirts and I've never seen one which featured no writing at all, not even the name of the convention. It was quite a bold choice of design for a convention shirt but I understand the specification for the shirt was one which could be worn anywhere. While I liked this fact as it was a shirt I could wear to work without 50 questions, I do agree with other comments here that because it's not obviously a convention shirt, it feels less of a convention souvenir. The result is only those in the know, know it is a furry shirt so wearing it kinda results in a private nod to others who are aware

Anyway, in summary, it's an interesting design choice but would prefer the more classic con shirt design for next year

There was a bar in the rotunda, but I only sawe it open once, briefly on Saturday, most of the time it was shuttered. Maybe it it was open more then people would have used it more![/list]

Some more feedback! (bit more positive this time)

• Loved the location of the cafe/bar area.  It really encouraged socialising as it was where people filtered through.  It did feel like the rotunda area was under utilised however.  Dunno if more drinks could be on offer there perhaps.
• The way things seemed to be catered to the con as things went on.  Like for example the sale of ice cream bars and the ice cream vendor.  Was certainly a nice touch considering the weather at the time, just a shame they sold out!
• The fursuit lounges were very well stocked with fans, hangers and water. I never once found the water barrels to be empty.  I would have to mention that yet again furs used the brilliant head trees to store their heads rather than just dry them.  You need 30 mins top on those things to dry most heads.  If only there was a way to indicate when you put a head on so you knew if you could swap it out.  Most furs are polite not to touch other people's fursuits so if someone leaves their head there for a day, it'll remain there.  Ultimately I guess all you can do is put up notices asking people not to be selfish when using the head trees and remember to remove their heads after 30 mins or so but people will hog them regardless.
• Next year please extend the convention an extra day.  Barely anything happened on Friday anyway so you could have it much the same as it was this year with Thursday having opening ceremonies and registration then Friday have the dealer's room open through to Sunday and then closing stuff on Monday same as this year. I think the con's big enough to justify it now.

Breakfast - great unless you're vegetarian. The Britannia, despite its faults, did have vegetarian sausages as a breakfast option - couldn't these be provided in future ?

I saw someone order a vegetable sausage and get it served to them at their table during breakfast. I guess you had to ask but then you had to know you could ask!

Much of this has been covered already but here's my feedback so far:

• Didn't know about the cheaper bottled drinks at reception until a few days into the con. Great idea but as I didn't need to go to reception much, I wasn't aware until someone told me
• Would be nice to have "drinks stations" for fursuiters in the corridors like I've seen at other cons.  Would have especially been appreciated considering the weather.
• There really needed to be an area where you could pop your fursuit head off closer to the dance floor.  I'm old school in that I don't want to take my head off unless in a designated area and it was one heck of a trek back to the headless lounges.  Maybe the room used for conops could be a headless lounge and have con ops elsewhere?
• BBQ queue was very long indeed.  Potentially if there's going to be another BBQ, there should be two points where to collect food perhaps.  It was a lot better than last year's but £15 still seemed a bit steep.  Perhaps £10-12 would be a better price point, especially considering burgers were £3 inside.
• The art auction went on forever.  You guys need a way to reduce the number of items being sold like having more slots on the bid sheets and stop people making silly bid increments.  Also as the event was touted as a charity auction but a number of items auctioned had 0% to charity.  I think it'd make sense that if an item goes to auction, then it should have at minimum a 5% donation.

That's just the negative stuff and it's only minor stuff to be honest.  Otherwise I absolutely loved the convention.  The hotel, staff and con staff were all brilliant and the convention was really well put together.  I just hope we don't outgrow the hotel any time soon, it's perfect for socialising, etc
