Check-in is at 3pm but if the rooms ready early then they'll let you in early; so when you arrive just go to reception and ask. If it's not ready they might give you an eta, if they do just remember that it's a best guess so don't be surprised if it takes longer.

I do believe that the table cloths are supplied by the hotel so they should be in place again and I think, but don't quote me on this, that there is free wifi this year.

To make it clear I am not certain about the wifi.

My advice to you would be to find some local furmeets and attend so that when you go to cf you know someone, also when at cf you should go to the: 'Your first furcon panel' to get info you need on what are the do's and don'ts.

Also going into YouTube and watching videos of previous years and other furcons will give you an idea of what goes on at cons so you're not overwhelmed when you get here.

If the con aren't able to help (possibly as they can't afford to hold large stocks of Euros on the chance that someone might want them), I seem to recall there being a Bureaux de Change over at Birmingham airport - so a quick trip over there might sort it out for you (though I know they often give horrible exchange rates !  )

I don't think that's what they meant bezel, as far as I can determine they want to swap their uk change for uk notes so that they can change those for notes in their currency themselves.

Other end of the stick there, I believe they are talking about change from notes, for a float.

I just read the first post again and it seems we're both right.

Hi Strawberry,

The hotel are aware of the numbers of places we have sold and are taking all measures to ensure that they are prepared for us, including provisioning of food and drink.  Please do not worry to much, there should be plenty for the BBQ.  Places are not limited by specific numbers but food is subject to availability i.e. once its gone, its gone!  From experience from last years event, not everyone will take up the BBQ, and additionally, only a reduced percentage of people are arriving early, so there should still be plenty of tickets available on Friday.

There should still be tickets available for you at your arrival.  If you do miss out, there will be a bar menu also available, and the hotel does offer 24/7 room service.

Might I suggest that you ask the hotel to set aside some of the tickets for Friday so it can't sell out on the Thursday
